I think you'd only use PDK that way for pottering around on the road. On a track, in manual mode using the paddles, I'm sure I would be quicker than in a manual car and indeed this is the way the racers use it.

Missed opportunities in auto and without overriding I'd certainly agree with. Fluffed gearchanges? I don't think I've had one - I wish I could say I'd never fluffed a change with a manual gearbox!
Does anyone who buys a Cayster as a sports/GT car (rather than a status symbol) leave PDK completely to its own devices?

Why are you changing gears mid corner? Even at that I can't see how you'd be fumbling with a paddle that is attached to the wheel. You can operate the paddle with two or even one finger holding the wheel at quarter to three ish.

Get in the right gear for entry, use the throttle for balance and accelerate out, changing up as you exit. Okay, on a long sweeper with a loosening radius you might change up, but there would be no fumbling on a steering angle like this.

Or maybe I'm doing it wrong? In any case I'm enjoying it my way.
I'm only used to driving a fully manual car without paddles, so when driving in manual mode I prefer to switch back to what's in my head and that's a need to grip the steering wheel and occasionally the gear lever.

When trying to use the paddles for anything other than straight line overtaking I have on occasion not found them to be where I imagined they would be. As this has happened to me a few times there must have been a reason I wanted to change gear and unfortunately the paddle didn't suit that situation. It may well have been on occasions when another road user does something unexpected and changing gear is a sudden requirement.

And so, for me to enjoy the odd occasion when I'd like to experiment in manual mode, I prefer not to suffer and I use the gear lever instead. I generally know where to find that.

My PEC instructor explained that the quickest way around their tracks is to leave the car in PDK.

thanks, feels pretty neat when I am sat in there over weekends- buckets are dead comfy even after a 1hr drive. Brilliant car.

Considering a Gt4/Gt3 next. whats a reasonable price?
I see some poorly spec'd manuals and PCCB ones for 45k+. I understand mine is yellow but it looks awesome when seen.

Thanks

Just found this thread. I’m guessing I’m too late and the car is sold?

If that car's sat unsold for 3 months there's clearly a significant problem in the "price" department!

have not officially advertised it on any website to be fair...so ur response is void. Haven't given it time on the market to assess the situation.
