Hi,

Considering ordering a new 718C S or even a putting a deposit down on a 718C GTS

What sort of discounts have people be able to achieve from dealers?

Thanks

I think the general consensus here in the UK is "very little if any".

Depends if its Cayman or a Boxster you're after.

Although I secured a very small discount on a Cayman when I order a year back, dealer has told me he woudn't do the same deal now given the lack of build slots and current demand.

On a Boxster however he mentioned he'd have a lot more room for manouvre. Build slots for Boxsters seem easier to come by and dependin on the dealer, you have more chance of strikihg a deal.

I can't see how demand for the 718 is high. There are more second hand 718's on the porsche website for sale then 981's. A few are less than 60k as well, surely these would have been sold and the one at Teesside Porsche wouldn't still be for sale after being reduced twice.

I think it's more a case of low build slot availability for the UK more than high demand per se. I know there were production issues swapping factories back to Osnabruck for Caymans but that should be cleared now.

Also bear in mind that the discount you are not getting at the front end of a deal will often be more than offset by the car holding its value and being worth more when you come to sell.

Heavily discounted cars, such as BMW M models have awful residuals and will cost you more over the total period of ownership.
