So we had a thread about when it was being released and now i think we should start a new thread about Who ordered one, how long the wait you been told and have a chat of what options and specs we all choosen.

I'll start off : swapped my order, was told unable to keep my S discount but as a goodwill i got half.

I've been told the wait tis about 6 months, could be sooner but since it just got released , they've been very hectic and alot of question they are not sure. Timescale and allocation infomation.

As for the spec , i choosen Red and black interior instead of the standard GTS interior. No way i'm paying £3k+ for that.

Other options PDK,18ways, folding mirrors, cruise control, light design, auto dimming mirrors, LCA ,Carrera white metalic, multi fucn wheel, heated seats, smoking package, storage net.

I really wanted painted black interior trims but they don't let me have different colour , only allows painted the same as exterior colour, so much for personalization!

981 or other purist , we know you dislike the 4Cyl version and there is millions of people who tells us that so please don't ruin the thread.

If I was you I'd be ditching 18 ways and the two tone leather to fund the GTS interior package Alan. I had it on my 981 BGTS and for me it's a large part of what made the car special over my previous models, I can't see the point in ordering one and not ticking that option!

I still can't get over the fact you have to pay for the "GTS interior" on a.........GTS!!

But then again, it's Porsche.

It seems there is no certainty about availability yet. Given the discounts that seem to be available on 718s what do you think will be the case with these?

I have problem with my back so i need the 18ways for adjustable lumber support. Appreciate the GTS tips but i dont really like the GTS interior and at a £3k cost, i would prefer to add that onto other more useful option like light upgrades, i went over budget way too much now frown

You will always get told zero but usually at the end of the product life cycle you can pick up some. When 718 launch last year there was no discount from everyone i spoke then 6 months down the line there was easily 3%-4%.

I do agree that these are much more limited/or special edition so value will be keep a little better than a normal S

100% a GTS needs a GTS interior, so much more special inside, and won’t keep its value as well without one.

Worth every penny, have got it on my 981 and have specced it again on my 991.2.

It’s what makes the GTS.

Is it dreaded? I really like it in my 718, maybe because it’s pretty close to the crayon trim?

Also is that Gtechniq applied by the dealership? If so I’d seriously reconsider that and find a Detailer to do it for you! It was offered by my OPC but it needs to be done right with some proper prep work and I wouldn’t trust a dealer with it.

I agree that with a Crayon interior leather the silver stitching would be less obvious and would even compliment it . But with Black it shows much more .
Very ' tacky' in my opinion . This deviating stitching seems to be a trend with all the major Car Co's ... BMW / Jaguar etc . Although on the Porsche Configurator you can spec this out .... but NOT with the Sport-Tex seating option and some Two-tone Leather options .

The Gtechniq Protection would be applied by Gtechniq AT The Dealership not BY The Dealership and has a 5 year Warranty . I tried to get SwissWax but my Dealership now only recomends the Gtechniq Protection for new cars supplied .

I'm still undecided to other go for Gtechniq or have a PPF. i think i prefer Paintprotection wrap as all my old cars had scratche and scruff so i like to protect it.

ALan, GTECH and PPF offer different things. Gtech will protect against airborne contamination (bird sxxx and tree sap) and to a certain degree, light surface scratching but it will not protect against stone chips. PPF Will against both chips and contamination but it is expensive to apply to the whole car. As my car is garaged and is not used daily, I am primarily concerned with stone chips so will be having PPF applied to vulnerable areas such as front bumper, wing mirror housings and rear wheel arches. I did this on my current car and it proved very successful.

Possibly a strange request, but do you think Porsche would allow you to change the red GTS in the headrest to black - or even better the embossed Porsche logo?

I’m wanting Graphite blue and I think the red GTS may clash, but I like the red stitching etc

I very much doubt it as these things come in set specs. If they did I dread to think what it would cost. I think that we can personalise specs but largely with set options that can be added to the production spec rather than options that we can dream up. I suppose to get that level of options limits production and automation of orders, components and production.

I was shown the interior of a Ferrari 458 that had stitching in the colours of the Italian flag. Looked silly and cost about £10k!!!

Yeah i thought that may be the case, I saw a black GTS embroided on a 981 but like you say the 718 GTS Package appears to be just 2 options (red or crayon). May have to see them in the flesh prior to ordering
