You’re missing the differences between the strip running lights below the headlights Alan, PDLS in Black tints that heavily.

Currently have the following spec’d up, and depending on possible delivery dates, may pull the trigger tomorrow. My OPC have a very similar optioned Cayman S in the showroom, that I think they would like to steer me towards, but that would have to be a good deal, or an unacceptable long wait for GTS

model designation painted in black? The Cayman Gts logo is already in black as standard?
Hmm i think I spec’d that too!

That is a LOT of money for a Cayman !! But if that's what you want go for it!! I was speaking to a buyer for one of the major UK dealerships this week and he had just purchased for stock a 981 Boxster originally specced at £69k and even he baulked at such a high specced car. He didn't share with me what he paid for it but depreciation on these high spec cars is quite high I believe. I am not saying you shouldn't spec to high levels - just commenting!

Dealers love to push the idea of certain options being needed for resale; its BS IMHO. The most sought after options may slightly help your resale percentage value but in most cases you will lose money every year on them. There is a reason that no options are included in the PCP balloon, Porsche consider them worthless for valuation purposes.

Standard 718 Lights

Standard GTS light with black surround as standard

PDSL in black also has chrome bits but less

Don’t PDLS have a washer nozzle? These don’t seem to have them?

You are correct ..... Both PDLS and PDLS PLus have the Headlight Cleaning System .

The Pics above are Standard Bi-Xenon's without the Cleaning System

No those are PDLS, it’s a fault on the configurator.

Was pleasantly surprised when I ordered my 718 last year that my salesman said "it's your car, order whatever options suit you". No arm twisting for anything 'to help with resale'.

Is it possible to just have GTS on the back without “718 Boxster” ?

Tick the badge delete option and buy a GTS badge separately.

Congrats on that. I've not heard of that kind of depreciation from a Porsche for a very long while. Guess I shouldn't believe everything I read/am told, next time!

GTS on hold at the moment, that fully optioned price was giving me an ulcer wink however might be close to a deal on a used cayman s with lots of the options ticked, and at least some of the depreciation hit taken. Let’s see where I end up smile

So what's everyones thoughts on depreciation?

981s have done well - seem to be still fetching around £60k for 2 year old examples.

Any word from dealers on balloon / GFVs?

Here's my spec so far:

Crayon, GTS interior etc - tempted to put the order in on Friday

The balloons I've been quoted on the GTS are:

- For 3 years, £39,686.25
- For 4 years, £35,363.75

Buying a £73,000 Porsche, I'd hope that it was worth at least £50,000 in 3 years' time, but that's not based on anything, it's just what I would hope for!

Thank you - very helpful - and yes i'd hope the same, especially anything GTS... Macans, 991s seem to have done well in GTS form

Balloons are designed to give you equity so they are conservative to the tune of £5k to £10k. 3yr old GTS would probably retail for over £50k but obi OPC needs to make money on that.
