718 GTS waiting list/orders/ Chat

Balloons? PCPs? Does nobody actually buy cars nowadays? I am. My spec for my just ordered car is: Guards red, deletion of model designation, Bi Xenons with PDSL, Park assist front & rear, PDK, Sports suspension, cruise, auto dimming mirrors, heated steering wheel and seats, smoking package. And delivery maybe January. Happy days.

The balloons I've been quoted on the GTS are:
- For 3 years, £39,686.25
- For 4 years, £35,363.75
Buying a £73,000 Porsche, I'd hope that it was worth at least £50,000 in 3 years' time, but that's not based on anything, it's just what I would hope for!
Thank you - very helpful - and yes i'd hope the same, especially anything GTS... Macans, 991s seem to have done well in GTS form- For 3 years, £39,686.25

That’s £10k more than a £43K base 718 without options would be on PCP. Not sure where an S would sit in between. I’d imagine the real world cost of a second hand GTS would be higher looking at 981s, you’d probably have more in positive equity at the end.- For 3 years, £39,686.25

Purely personal opinion of course, but I would argue that a combination of rave reviews, 'that' engine sound, the last NA6 - all combined to make the 981 GTS more sought after than anyone could have predicted. You are hoping that the 718 GTS manages to pull off that same 'lightening in a bottle' trick.
It might. It really might. But the major issue that still exists is the F4T, making the GTS (potentially) just a very well spec'd car that still does not have the magic of the old NA one.
The 981 CGTS seems to be the ultimate expression (GT4 not withstanding) of a car that was universally praised throughout the range. The 718 CGTS may just end up being the top spec of a car that is still fantastic, but has lost some of the magic. And that could be a big deal when it comes to future values.

Don't you then get into the grey/dicey area of trying to understand why a 981 GTS value has been as strong tho, then hoping that the same magic applies to the 718?

I have a base 718 so I couldn't really care less whether the GTS holds it's value better. It's just a general observation that Porsche GTS cars regardless of the model seem to maintain a strong second hand value. I'd also imagine that in 3 or 4 years time when it comes to selling one the, F6 vs F4T whining will have gone well past it's sell by date for the the majority of people.Purely personal opinion of course, but I would argue that a combination of rave reviews, 'that' engine sound, the last NA6 - all combined to make the 981 GTS more sought after than anyone could have predicted. Sounds rather nice indeed - When did you place your order for Jan delivery. What a nice way to start the new year!!I’ve been told mine is locking down specat the end of the month and gong into production in January for arrival at the OPC in February. I think I’ll wait until the 1st of March for delivery.
I was told that a December delivery was possible but the news matches comments elsewhere that RHD production starts in January.
Anyone been given an earlier delivery date?
