Boxster GTS order placed! Going for an April/May collection
Awsome, bet you’re getting more excited now.I’m assuming March build slot too for April delivery.
For March delivery i was given a build slot for the car o be built in Feb but i didn’t want that. im hoping to get a slot next month and lock down at the end of the year. keep us updated

This thread seems to have gone quiet. Anyone had any further news on deliveries?
My order has been in since they announced the gts and has locked down for production some time in January. If I can get delivery in January I think I’ll take it. If it’s February then I’ll wait until 1st March.

You guys seem to like your 718's and I am thinking of buying one.
I have driven both 2.0 and 2.5 Boxster at the Porsche Experience Centre and I think I preferred the 2.0 as it felt a little smoother and still quick enough.
Can you confirm my impression that the 2.0 is faster than a 981S on the road?
I think that I have seen a video of a 718S test in which the reviewer says the car is quicker than a GT4.
Not sure about the 2L vs 981S. I would imagine very similar in a drag. The 2.5L some youtube video says its faster than the GT4.I have driven both 2.0 and 2.5 Boxster at the Porsche Experience Centre and I think I preferred the 2.0 as it felt a little smoother and still quick enough.

more usuable torque makes the power delivery different when you compare the 2L /3.4L , The 3.4L only sounds fast now, you dont get full power until you're right at the high RPM and then only a short time before you will shift again whereas F4T you have power across the whole rev range then it flats out at the end.
I love turbo cars and the push it does when you step on it.
My turn to have good news, got email today about my April European collection order for my GTS. Very excited to collect the car whilst on holiday and make a trip out of it!
Next step is to find out the date of the build and submit a collecting date that will work for us.
I had 12 month to think about my spec and im pretty sure thats what i want for a daily drive car so its been a long hard wait, part of the reason was i cancelled my S order in April and said if by Dec still no GTS news i just buy a used cayman S.
only 3 more months now!!

Do you think we can report him for harrassment? These old idoits think they’re some kind of Saint when it comes to 981s. As many mentioned if you like a car that only has sound advantage get a C12 Tractor!
Just give it a rest. The hope of this thread was to give those that have ordered or thinking of ordering a chance to discuss their order, delivery etc and to get excited about their new car. Why is it so difficult to let that happen without the usual snide remarks about the "noise, nasp, noise, nasp" and repeat and repeat and repeat. We have heard it all before and "er..." adds nothing. I hope that you feel pleased with yourself.

This one? https://youtu.be/_KSj1CF-YYk
I can hear the car throughout, it’s just, er.. Exterior shots, it’s like a non-sound? Doesn’t do anything.. Very odd
Interior clunking / rattling sounds bad. Better towards the end
This sounds good though https://youtu.be/YyG_A5_Z3pQ

Hi guys, here's mine.
My dealer friend did the spec but see below images:
PDK
Jet Black
GTS Interior
Lower suspension
LEDs
Camera
Pros:
Think it looks absolutely fabulous
Interior very nice place to be
Driving position is spot on
Traction/general poise and handling (although weather has been crap) is very encouraging so far
Cons:
Still not sure on the noise
Potentially a lot of money for a Boxster? (I would have taken a couple of trinkets off - heated wheel, light design and alcantara sunvisors as she isn't a long term car)
Going to be difficult to part with this one though!

Thanks
I tried not to go too mad with the options. I think the black door handles & rear spoiler on the Guards red works well - especially with the Sports Design package & Black wheels.
I saw a yellow 718 Boxster GTS last weekend at Porsche Portsmouth ready for prep (I wonder if they are a member of this forum) and it looked really sharp with the black door handles, rear spoiler and sport design pack - A real bumblebee look.
The manual gearbox is simply fantastic. I've always preferred a manual gearbox but gave S-tronic a whirl in my current TT and to be fair, it's excellent. The PDK is again on another level, but after testing a manual cayman - I couldn't not order it.

I think the black door handles are really nice too. Since im going to get some stuff wrapped in gloss black,i thought i do it all at once... on all my old cars i alway had scratch on the handle from nails etc, no idea why but i want to wrap to protect that area.I tried not to go too mad with the options. what are you having wrapped? and what's your car colour?
i'm looking to have some details wrapped too hence my interest.
All silver interior trim to black. Black handles. window trim in high gloss black. rear diffuser in high gloss black and maybe the black bits on the front spoiler too.i'm looking to have some details wrapped too hence my interest.

You could buy a GTS badge and stick it on yourself. This was my original intention but having taken delivenry I now like the clean look of the rear and it will be easier to keep clean !
Wouldn’t it be better just removing the badge yourself? planning to remove the 718 bit.. maybe need to reallign it all.ClubsportStr said:
Look on the launch photos of the GTS not photos recently upload. The GTS front lower spoiler extension is around the complete lower section of the spoiler, the sport kit is only at the right and left edges . https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=paa9z9_RM-U
Clarification on the above post !
You have a very sharp eye!Clarification on the above post !

I shared that info on C2C a few pages ago so didn't see the point in repeating it.
£1000 of that is the finance contribution.
too many pages to keep track off, since some is moaning about where to find discount. In october the discount was £1700 so the 2400 is a big jump from what they’re offering.£1000 of that is the finance contribution.
