Sorry, I have no idea.

Didn't bring it home so can't pop and have a look.

Hi all,

Thought to jump into the forum and share.

After some deliberation walked out of my OPC with a deposit on a 718 CGTS - My Spec

Can't wait to see it in the flesh. Its my first Porsche and counting down the days till April....Just need to tell the Mrs what I've done. eek

Look forward to seeing a few more being delivered over the next few months.

Looks like the caymans are lining up for delivery. Any sign of any boxsters yet?

P.s. the black one above looks ace.

Look what landed today.

For everyones information it sounds the dogs!!!
Looks great!

When you say it sounds the dogs - can you elaborate? Does it pop and bang more? Generally louder? Different tone?

Many thanks

Mike

Agreed - would also be interested to hear (since I have an order in).

I have to say I like the sound of the base and S models in the flesh, even though it seems to sound bad on YouTube. Hoping the GTS is the same, or indeed better.

Spec looks great. I love crayon. It looks amazing in the flesh.

The only item I'd say is a must have that you have missed off is the 2 zone climate control.

Did you know that without this you don't even have climate control, just manual a/c?

The auto dimming mirrors are also something that I couldn't do without.

The standard lights are also pretty average and not that bright but if you are driving in well lit areas this shouldn't be a problem.

Hope that helps!

Not struck on the exhaust note on the 4 cylinders sounds a bit agricultural to me.

Otherwise great car

There is a Porsche 718 GTS promo video available on YouTube. There are the occasional snippets of exhaust note but not enough to really hear properly.

That says to me it sounds pretty similar to the 718S.

Thanks for the input, saw a 911 C4S in crayon with satin alloys. I had to copy it...

I won't be dailying the GTS so may get away with not having Climate control. Tbh it should be standard on a 70k car!! There are a few more creature comforts I'd love to have but with a wedding to pay for in August I was really strict on myself and managed to keep under my £70k budget.

I told the Mrs last night im going through my late 20s crisis, and id chosen a car over another woman....she was not impressed.

Ps. What spec you go for?

I'd still get climate, it's only a couple of hundred quid I think.

It’s more like £500. I had manual AC in my 981 CS, auto climate in my 981 BGTS and went back to manual in my 718 CS, it’s not a must have for me in a weekend car.

Ouch - I see it's £539. Sorry.

Still a must-have for me though. Manual aircon on a £60k car is just wrong!

i might be using it wrong but i'm not a fan of dual climate either. i have the fan set to soft but on Auto the fan for me is always too loud and i feel that in cold weather the car doesn't warm up as quickly as it does when i manually control it (i.e. set max temp on low fan for a while and when car warms up drop temp as needed).

I had a 981S before and its not as angry.

I have not had much to do with the 718 or 718S but after hearing all the comments in the media I was half expecting a Porsche Fiesta...... But the sound made me smile and what more can you ask for.

If you have a noise issue on soft, I suspect you have a problem - leaves in the system? True it takes a while to get up to temp in the cold (heated seats are the best solution)

Great ! Have you heard it at high revs? I had a 981 GTS, and was so disappointed with the 718S with sports exhaust I drove. I loved it on start up, but massively missed the change in tone as the revs rose. I'm so hoping they have nailed it with the GTS
