Cabnon sills are a wise choice to match the interior - I did it with my 981 and they hold up just fine.

Think I'm just about there with mine, this will be two firsts for me (first step into Porsche ownership and also first NEW car purchase) - any recommendations?

And full top half leather dash
Isn’t that an option now on top of GTS interior pack?

Anyone with any thoughts on the active steering option? Does it make the steering feel worse under normal conditions, and is the normal steering too heavy for manoeuvring?

It's a (relatively) inexpensive option, but not sure if I would want / need it?

The 718 I drove had it. I didn't expect to like it - but I did, quite a lot. Makes manoevering easier and makes the car feel more agile round tight roundabouts. At higher speeds above (?) about 30 it seems to weight up to similar levels to my 981. My wife would prefer the steering to be lighter in any case, so well worth thinking about if your OH will drive. Personally I'd spec it, though don't regard it as a must have option.

I believe it can be disabled by OPC if you subsequently don't like it - might be worth checking this to be certain.

That's all good to know, thanks both. I just wanted to check that it wasn't one of those things that makes the steering overly light/heavy or "slushy". Don't want to ruin one of the best attributes of the car!

Are you talking about Power Steering Plus? That’s a completely unnecessary option IMO. Best thing you can do is ask to test a cars with and without it at your PEC day.

I assume that is what he meant. Like I say I didn't expect to like it and did.

So you drove it back to back with a 718 without it?

Yes, that is what I meant. And I don't think the PEC is the place to try it - my thought was that it may come in handy when manoeuvring and/or driving around London etc. Appreciate it's not really necessary on a track!

You are correct, build slots not allocated yet but am told I could expect delivery (Boxster GTS) in January 2018. Production is starting in December for Europe , the rest of the world is phased in dring Q1 2018

I've been told that there is a possibility of a mid December delivery or if not January.

My order is in and deposit paid and first on the OPC's list.

I'm due to go down on Saturday to pay my deposit and select my spec. However, I don't want delivery until the end of July, so they say they'll get be a build slot and then just push it back.
