Just ordered a new Cayman GTS. Lock down on Saturday, build late Feb pick up late March or early April.

This is my 3rd GTS - had 2 981 Cayman GTS’s and now looking forward to this one.

Gone for Graphite Blue! Trading in my 718 Boxster S for it.

Have 2 days to change it if missing anything. I have definitely gone for the Dual Climate - it’s not on the Boxster and I miss it!!

My biggest decision was manual or PDK. All 3 Boxster / Caymans I have had have been PDK but was tempted by a manual for a change!!

I didn’t even realise that climate control wasn’t on it as std. I though the dual zone was exactly that, instead of a single zone climate the option to have dual.... bummer. I would have gone for it also now I know that it doesn’t have climate control at all. Sometimes they are st at explaining their options. I thought it was a silly option in such a small car to have two zone.

The other one I was annoyed by was on my 991.2 gts I had PDLS plus as std but on 718 gts it’s not and you can only choose to have PDLS plus in black a 1300 option. Silly such a difference.

I am also in the same position ......... etc But have not yet made up my mind about this . My OPC thinks it would make no difference to resale values between 67 or 18 plates ....... although I suspect that an OPC would want to release our new GTS's as soon as they have been prepped .

PS. I am still awaiting my Silverstone PEC drive booking .
I had a 17 plate which I collected end of July 2017 so about 5 weeks before 67 plate. When I tried to sell lots of traders saying it would have been worth £2000 more if had been 67 plate. So I’d hold out if you can for the 18.

That's a lovely spec.

You have everything there that I think you need on the GTS. The black door handles are a great touch and look really good on the guards red.
Thanks smile

I tried not to go too mad with the options. I think the black door handles & rear spoiler on the Guards red works well - especially with the Sports Design package & Black wheels.

I saw a yellow 718 Boxster GTS last weekend at Porsche Portsmouth ready for prep (I wonder if they are a member of this forum) and it looked really sharp with the black door handles, rear spoiler and sport design pack - A real bumblebee look.

The manual gearbox is simply fantastic. I've always preferred a manual gearbox but gave S-tronic a whirl in my current TT and to be fair, it's excellent. The PDK is again on another level, but after testing a manual cayman - I couldn't not order it.

I think the black door handles are really nice too. Since im going to get some stuff wrapped in gloss black,i thought i do it all at once... on all my old cars i alway had scratch on the handle from nails etc, no idea why but i want to wrap to protect that area.

Hi All,

Just thought I'd share some useful info for anyone considering whether to go for the "GTS interior package" - I've included in my spec as a result

When spec'ing my GTS I initially thought £2096 for contrast stitching, not sure I can justify that. However, the more I thought about it the more convinced I became that to me, this pack is a key part of what makes a GTS a GTS, so it had to be included in the end.

Then I looked at the cost of the ”Carbon interior package (with leather interior)” as a standalone option = £1049, which led me to add up the individual prices of all the items included in the "GTS interior package".

The GTS interior package provides the perfect option for customers who want the interior of their 718 GTS model to be even more rich in contrast and even sportier. Stitching, seatbelts, the rev counter dial and the “GTS” logo on the headrests can be chosen in the contrast colours of Crayon or Carmine Red. The package also includes floor mats with Black edges, with the stitching and the “PORSCHE” logo in a contrasting colour. The dashboard, door panel and centre console trims are all in carbon. The optional GTS interior package is based on the optional leather interior with additional Alcantara® features.

Carbon interior package (with leather interior) = £1049
Extended interior trim package with decorative stitching in contrasting colour (Red or Crayon)= £1851
Seat belts in Red or Crayon= £194
Instrument dials in Red or Crayon= £345
Personalised floor mats with leather edging = £215

Grand total = £3654!

So at £2096, that actually makes the pack a bit of a bargain, especially if you’re considering a couple of those individual items anyway.

GTS interior is absolutely essential in my opinion. It’s pretty much the only option you can spec that is GTS specific.

I’d been looking at swapping my 718 CS back to a 981 GTS recently and any cars without the GTS interior were instantly knocked off my shopping list.

I wasn't sure if the red accents went with the graphite blue, so instead I went for:
a, Alcantara Package GTS with smooth-finish leather £1,242
b, Carbon interior package (with leather interior) £1,049

Excluding the following:
c, Seat belts in Red = £194
d, Instrument dials in Red = £345
e, Personalised floor mats with leather edging = £215

Is there anything else I'll not be getting, which would have come standard with the GTS interior package.

What I can't understand is when I spec the GTS Interior package instead of a/b above, my spec price goes up by £2k (e.g as if the interior package is £4k).

All silver interior trim to black. Black handles. window trim in high gloss black. rear diffuser in high gloss black and maybe the black bits on the front spoiler too.

The reason the price jumps (only by £1047 not £2k) is that GTS interior package is a bolt on to the Alcantara Package GTS pack…….not an alternative

i.e. you have to select:
Alcantara® Package GTS in conjunction with GTS interior package in Carmine Red = £1242 + £2096 = £3338
or
Alcantara® Package GTS in conjunction with GTS interior package in Crayon = £1242 + £2096 = £3338

I think the Crayon pack would look fantastic with your Graphite blue.

So your a & b option = £2291 (£1242 + £1049)
Vs.
£3338 (£1242 + £2096) for the GTS interior package i.e. for an additional £1047 (£3338-£2291) you would get:

Extended interior trim package with decorative stitching in Crayon
Seat belts in Crayon
Instrument dials in Crayon
Personalised floor mats Black edges, with the stitching and the “PORSCHE” logo in a Crayon

…which would normally cost £2605 if you added them individually to your a & b option.

I agree. I originally didn't have the GTS interior pack as part of my spec. It does appear to be an expensive option.

However, when at the OPC they showed me the pack with red trim on a 911 and I was sold.

It completely transforms the interior. So much so with the red trim that I would only consider an exterior colour that works with the GTS pack with red trim.

It does make the GTS the GTS.

Got to be done IMO.

I'm not that big a fan of the carbon trim so I don't really see it as essential.
Nice to have if it wasn't such an expensive option.
I think if thats what makes a GTS a GTS it would be included as standard on a GTS!(hope that makes sense)
Has anyone deleted the GTS logo on the doors?

I think the GTS interior looks nice however with the carbon I find it looks too dark inside. I went with the Alcantara Package GTS with black smooth-finish leather combined with the brushed aluminium package to lift the interior with some light.

I'd like the deviated stitching and the coloured GTS in the headrest, but i'd rather not have the carbon surrounding it. Each to their own as with all things smile

You could buy a GTS badge and stick it on yourself. This was my original intention but having taken delivenry I now like the clean look of the rear and it will be easier to keep clean !

Wouldn’t it be better just removing the badge yourself? planning to remove the 718 bit.. maybe need to reallign it all.
