No, they may soften slightly, but expect the new one to be 10 to 15% more than the original GT4, Porsche know demand is there to sell whatever they make and that 991 lump in the back will help justify the hike.. The 981 represents very good value at their current prices.IMHO of course!

No, not quite 'tank'. Certainly trade-in price will be below list (I think they are now?). I reckon across the board they will be about £10k cheaper than they are today. No biggie, still gvfm, it's just a result of more product out there (and coming) and a bit of a softening in the market.Twinfan said:

For what it's worth ... if the GT4 is the junior GT3 for people who want the car to be mobile with torque rather than outright pace (which is relative) ... then P may be on the button with this.
There's always the chance there will be no GT4 and they will just release a GT4 RS.
They've shown with the GT2 RS that they are now willing to skip a GT2 model and just go RS.
This way the 981 GT4 is not replaced as such, it gives it a solid place in the second hand market without being overshadowed and gives the 718 model a different hierarchy.

Info on Rennlist, and posted here, from a guy who visited Weissach is that the GT4 is coming. Manual only, 4.0 version of the old 3.8, chassis tweaks etc. There is a test mule 'RS' with a GT3 engine and PDK but it has not been confirmed for production. Early 2019 release is the current guess for the non-RS GT4 and matching Spyder..
Fokker - I'd take the £77k for your GT4. Can't see you getting offered that against a new 718 Spyder?

It might be a keeper. Its actually a great every day car.

I've got really mixed feelings about the 718 Spyder/GT4. The styling isn't looking like it's to my taste and the effect of the GPF on the engine performance and sound is a big unknown. It's likely to be the first NA Porsche car with GPF so people won't be able to take an educated guess prior to ordering or delivery...

Absolutely. I was having this conversation with a good car pal of mine on the phone about this today. If using the old 3.8 bored out to 4 litres, how can they realistically get to 420bhp with a filter? People are saying that they would have to use the GT3 unit. You lose maybe 40bhp with the filter and they'd detune it a further 40bhp to get to 420?I've got really mixed feelings about the 718 Spyder/GT4. But the special bits of the GT3 motor (dry sump etc) won't fit in the Cayster engine bay as they are, they'd need to be relocated. Yep i agree, total speculation. You'd think they know what they're doing though so they should come up with something interesting and as long as its a lively unit. I for once welcome this new filter technology. Was at my local Porsche CGB, and got sick by standing besides an old Pork with the engine on... Porsche will focus on delivering high volume of already low emission products (specially those with high PDK take up?).
