I'm not so sure its the particle filter, more a massive silencer needed to hit the dB reduction required for the new regs.

What do people think of the new sound based on these clips? Does anyone like or dislike it?

Better than a series 718 so far.... but far away from 981 Spyder/GT4... even with their non-proper-GT, non fit for purpose Carrera S junk unit...spin

I'm not keen on it, and given that it's likely to be just a 4.0 version of the old 3.8 it doesn't seem to be anything special.

I’m afraid it’s a nope from me..... 9k Red-Lining N/A screamer that most defo is NOT..... Whatever is beneath the engine cover, be it N/A or not, does not sound great to me: almost a synthetic symphony of splutters and burbles.... Not to my taste: but then that is subjective, as always..!!

It’s good to get peoples views thus far on the sound clips. It’s all part of the fun of finding out.

Naysayers get out! I think it sounds pretty darn good in that clip. Deffo 6 cylinder. Really difficult to tell from *that* clip but doesn't sound turbo like the other clip/s did. I'm going 3.2 diesel. Stick. spin

Might they have muffled the sound or deadened it to throw the speculation off course? Or would they go to the bother of disguising this? Certainly this car has an abnormally high interest in it's engine!

I'm aware it's not being driven at high revs.
However the majority of us chaps can't define the sound as terribly familiar. I for one think it will have a NA 6, which will be great if so.
If it isn't, in the great grand scheme of things it won't really matter! 😊

Based on one comment in an Autocar article I believe. Complete guesswork without an ounce of truth IMHO.

414hp sounds pretty definite, except it's equivalent to 420PS

Apparently subsequently backed up by Autocar by replying to a tweet asking for more information...but I agree that it could be no more than a rumour they are spreading as there appears to be no substance to back it up.

Interesting video from the Monza test with the GT4CS in action:

Quite a different exhaust tone to the 911 RSR that follows it...
