Yeah i understand that..and glad from a choice perspective that they didn't... but from a comparable offering in the current market place and with an eye on what they wanted to do in motorsport..i felt it might have been a good direction for them to go with. They choose differentiation(vs marketplace as you say) and they have no direct competitor at the price point.All I want/need;
- NASP 6F
- PDK
I used to own a 981CGTS, the synergy NA 6F and PDK was just perfect IMHO, given the 718 GT4 is the top of the 718 range, I do want the best/fastest transmission that suits that specific car and really crown it to be king!
As a Dutchman I would like to thank all forum members for all information that has been given here, I do like it a lot and I do read it all !!

Exactly - I would take less power for more engagement.The rest is really only relevant for pub / forum chatter or if tracking the car.
I used to really enjoy driving a MK1 MX5 for this reason, and it’s the same reason I enjoy a 964C2 manual to balance out the modern “fast” stuff.

it's why the Cayman R has a good following now days, a few sold GT4's to buy Cayman R's it's a real sweet spot.
I have to say having driven the R on some b roads yesterday it really is a cracking car.The damping is firm enough while remaining smooth and compliant and the engine is really sharp and revs wonderfully, this coupled with the fantastic balance and high speed cornering ability makes the R a great package.
I've not driven a GT4 yet so can't draw a comparison but the R has really impressed me.
And its green

Are they not already homologating PDK via the Clubsport? They don’t race a manual model. If the above were true, this would make manual less likely than PDK (which is obviously incorrect).
Under GT4 rules the engine has to be homologated but the gearbox doesn't, apparently.Twinfan said:
Exactly. I think the RS mule was a bit of fun and good initial testing for the engineers. I can't see it being made.
I still think it will happen. It doesn't make sense to let people see it if its not going to make it to production! Its an easy way to get some cash back for the development costs of the 4.0 engine. Also if they build in extremely limited numbers its not really going to be competing for sales against GT3. I just hope they offer a manual option.

This is an interesting point. If the car starts with a PDK why do we see the manual as the only transmission option on the road car? Seems counter intuitive that the Decission to not provide choice is cost based but then the only available option of the 2 is the manual when the pdk is already in place.
