I'm not saying Cardiff do but some OPC's definitely have deals with certain people who get all the nice stuff and flip them straight back.
I suppose if I was making tens of thousands doing it I would be complaining but there is a very bad smell surrounding it. I'm just amazed that some dealers haven't been picked up on it. There are the better dealers though, those that operate on a fairer playing field.

I know of a guy who's had at least 3 if not 4 of the recent money makers and they've all been flipped back within weeks if not days.
Who's going to pick them up on it? As long as targets are reached or exceeded by OPC's everybody's happy, with the exception of customers who get strung along or fleeced by having to buy cars they don't want in order to secure allocations.

I agree not many would be complaining if they were the chosen few. lol

Every West Midlands dealer has their "very special car" customers lined up and it's the same guys everytime. It's got to the point where friends are becoming enemies as they are agreeing to share allocations and then end up getting gazumped by their so called pals. Foolishly the guy who didn't get the car he was promised by one OPC goes over to another OPC in the same group. I guess some people never learn. lol

It's a dog eat dog world when it comes to GT models these days.

I will say that some dealers are fair and clear about standard GT allocations.

Demand has subsided for these cars already. 50 odd .2 GT3 available and i'd guess there are are a quite a few more to come on the market if more .2RS are to be built. I guess some might even trade their GT3 in, to get the GT4 as GT3's aren't even selling lol.

The only cars IMO which are going to get decent overs in the next 12 months are Speedster and GT4RS(fingers crossed they build it). I'd guess the GT4 will initially be pricided at around £15-20k over list but that we drop quite quickly once the crooked OPC's start flipping them wholesale!

.
in the closed GT3 groups people are turning up with cars quite often so there is a overs market for them and there are buyers at £30k overs no issue.

OPC have sold at least 7 or 8 if not more manuals In the last 2 weeks, I follow the manual stock quite close. numbers stay about the same but the stock is rolling, there were 15 winged manuals all silver and blue last month, today only 8 cars with different colours hence at least 8+ cars sold in 2 weeks.

More tourings have arriving it was 1 now it's 5, (bumping up the manual figures) but there seem no slow down in winged manual GT3 selling, and why would there be it has no equals and makes the T look a stupid price.

It would be great to see list but you cannot even buy a 991.1 GT3 with 25k miles on for list yet, so it will never happen imo on the new cars for years.

The cheapest OPC car for sale is a 5 owner 2013 991.1 non bucket seated 27k mile car for £111k !!!

these were £101k list plus options.

If people expect gen 2 to be below list, cars like the above need to be £80k !

people are making overs on GT4, 997 etc etc so to get into a 991.2 Manual GT3 is list for these buyers at £30k overs as they already made the money selling a 997 In the 1st place, sell a 997 RS for £180k when they were £90k 4 years ago and pick up a manual 991.2 GT3 is a cheap swap still in the favor of the buyer at overs.

It great talking down or up the market, but cars are selling quite nicely imo and the prices seem to be the prices atm esp on the manual Winged cars, I don't follow PDK stock.

but 8+ cars in 2 weeks is good numbers, I would say we will run out of winged manual Stock at some point because it is the pinnacle of what Porsche or any one can do with a manual NA car, it's very rare in other brands, unless you want an MX5 lol

I have no need to talk the market up or down I am in the daft loop where I don't sell private so it makes no odds what I say, just interesting to see the nayslayers when in fact a lot of cars are selling at £40k+ overs atm

are you after the extra 3/10th a lap then ? I am after cars I have to drive myself even if they lap slower.

lets not make it a PDK thread, I hate PDK in fun cars, and I hope there is no PDK option so "drivers" have more choice later on in 3 years when the flipping has stopped and we have double the choice on the 2nd hand market.

I totally disagree. I will only take a Spyder if it does have PDK. Passed on the 981 because of lack of PDK

good let the allocation goto people who want a drivers car over a automatic :-)

If every one wants PDK then it will be daft money to get into a manual 2nd hand !!! and hence my point I hope they don't make automatics in these 2 new cars.

Selfish view but the death of manual is not good and when you goto track days you can see the joy on GT4 owners faces, the cars are ending up in "enthusiasts" hands now 3 years on and miles are being out on the cars.

Fair enough. I don't really keep up to date on all cars. Just a quick glance every other day and it seems that there are loads for sale.

I have no skin in the game so makes no difference to me if they go up or down!

Some manual cars have stuck around for ages. The OPC i used to go to has a miami blue one for sale. They've had it since May. They bought from private seller for in the region of 150- 160K as seller had it up for 160K. Started off at £180K, now at £175K. I think they can drop it down to £165K and they still have trouble selling it.

I just want a GT4RS and i'll have to pay overs for it as i'm not getting Porsche T bagged by OPC's to get an allocation. laugh

I’m not a great driver, and PDK let’s me keep my hands on the wheel, and still be able to change gears ! wink

Having said this, you’re comments do make me hesitate now... I should try a GT4 manual on a track to be able to compare and make up my mind. Does PEC offer this option do you know?

What would you say will be the differences between a standard GT4 and a GT4 RS?

I think it's 40bhp - I think I read 460bhp in the RS mule and 420bhp for the regular GT4? The mule currently has the GT3 engine, whether the production version would get it, if it's made, or a tweaked version of the regular GT4 engine is another matter.

It would also be PDK only.

I think if they do go ahead they will go the whole 9 yards on it and it will be closer to 500hp.

Gutted if they only go PDK. I guess i'll have to get a 718 GT4 just incase they don't offer a manual. frown

No, stupidly I failed to ask about the RS. You can't think of everything when you're all of a sudden speaking to the GT boss!

Called Local OPC. They tell me they no longer operate the Letter Of Intent option as it caused troubles.
Is this standard practice now ?
