No such cars exist and might not for another 12 months.
Let’s imagine it did... or at least base on the options of the 981 GT4.
Clubsport gave you a rollcage ?

How many of you who are pretty much guaranteed a 718 GT4 allocation will turn it down if the car is turbocharged?

No announcment yet, no allocations yet,… no guarantees.

That said if people get list allocations and it is turbo charged- most will still take the car and then flip it.

Thing is, regardless of the PU, it’s unlikely to not be a good car. There hasn’t been a bad GT car yet.

Depends on the price.

Cayman GT4 will have a max ceiling price unlike a GT 911.

Mid £70ks max would be about right otr basic.

Same here. I'd only be interested in one with an NA engine and a manual gearbox.

I'm nowhere near top of the list though so unlikely to get offered one whatever engine is in the middle of it!

If its a 6 cyl, I'd still have it, but flat four? probably not.

But as AP has said NA 6 cyl, so not sure why there's so much speculation about turbo?

If it’s a 6 then I’ll take it turbo or not, if it’s a 4 then no chance..

Assuming it’s a NA F6, what sort of options do you think may be available? And which would you recommend for a more track focused car?
I’m thinking about:
1) roll cage;
2) bucket seats with four point harness to be able to use a HANS device safely;
3) in terms of brakes, I’m in two minds about it as steel brakes whilst the may fade a bit, are still way more economical to run the car on rather than PCCB;
4) PDK (prefer to keep my hands on the wheel, especially down fast bendy sections at the Ring...

Anything else?

Interesting questions

My spec will probably go along the lines of this if this car comes off!

Clubsport
Folding buckets with heated seat if still possible
Extended leather
Bose
Steel brakes
Painted model badge on the rear as I hate how they trap dirt
Black door handles to make a bit of a contrast if possible
Pdk if possible

Unsure of paint colour and wheel colour, some colours in my mind don’t work on a 718 and I’m yet to see a colour which blows me away.

Daliy driver so a little unsure on how I would get on with the seats. Our 991.2 has 18 way adjustment and they are super comfortable, but something keeps telling me it would be wrong to spec a gt car without buckets.

And just to add, if it’s not a NA6 4.0 I will probably give it a miss and they need to sort them exhaust pipes out!

Thanks for sharing. You should spec the car to your liking and needs. I read loads about what the te-sale spec should be. Ultimately it will be your car for the foreseeable future so go for 18 way seats ! smile

I agree - Porsche themselves have said NA F6, so until there's more information, it's daft to assume anything other than that IMHO. It's by no means certain but it's all the information we have and I have to believe that AP knows more about what he's cooking up in GT products than some blokes on the internet.

Andreas told me an all pretty new 4 litre NA flat 6 at Goodwood so unless he's deliberately being inaccurate then I'm believing that...
Said Spyder was much more of a drop to GT4 this time so I'm believing that too...

And there was i thinking you'd been enrolled on FBI's Witness protection programme , for divulging corporate secrets..My info tells me since you spoke to AP there has been some changes done..Primarily the new 4L has been shelved for cost reasons and been replaced by the 'off the shelf' 3.8L from the old GT4 but fitted with the 991.1 GTS Powerkit to give the same 420HP.

I'd still be tempted by a Spyder if it had the 3.8 + powerkit. Don't think I'd be very disappointed if i didn't get an allocation though.

If recent events are any indication with Porsche banning any future diesels and withdrawing all hybrids until further notice, then nothing they do surprises me any more..They've been caught napping with the new WLTP rules and just making it up as they go along.
I'm pretty positive on the new 718 GT4/Spyder keeping the old 3.8L Nasp albeit with a power boost.
