Well, given the rumours on other threads that the factory is to close from April to September, I cannot see a launch until much later in the year - certainly not at Geneva 18n UNLESS the want to maintain interest while no cars are available fo r delivery !
One of the guys at opc was telling me something about this. Cant they build at another factory instead?

She can see some GT3RS's in production now so must be the first batch of press / factory cars to be built. Would suggest Geneva for the RS. She said that there are no GT4's in the production though so unlikely for Geneva I would imagine at this stage.
Gutted.

Does she know anything about engine in RS? 4.2?

I've been told it will be 4.0 and wear the RS badge by somebody who works in the supply chain. Guess we'll find out soon enough!

That looks more aggressive than a standard GT front, RS perhaps?

Funny that it is the same car parked up and in the snow
It seems to be a knee jerk reaction release of the snow pics. Guess Porsche weren't expecting somebody to get the pics up on Instagram so quickly!

Or it could be something to do with the number plate been a factory one. Do all prototypes have the same reg?

Does anyone else wish they'd gone a little more aggressive with the styling? I appreciate that Porsche never really drastically change styling but I'd love to see a more aggressive looking GT4 in tune with say an GT3 RS.

Higher, larger wing, air vents on the front fenders, subtle tweaks to the hood to make it more purposeful. Larger side scoops etc. To the untrained eye it looks very similar to the 981 GT4.

Full fat 4.0L 9000 revving GT4RS monster please Porsche!
+1. Please Porsche!

So judging by the large amount of articles suddenly appearing on line saying that this could be a GT4RS, i now am convinced more than ever it will be a 4.0l RS model launched at Geneva.

Just because you wish it won't make it so. You've been trying to convince yourself it's coming for months!

I seriously doubt it'll be badged RS. Why badge the entry level product with the top product's label?
LOL. No harm in wishing!

430-440hp cayman built by GT division with shorter gearing than the 981 GT4 cloud9

the autocar article early say that they are speculating that it may wear the RS badge.

it's all speculation but it gives me hope!

How do people buy 6 cars a year from one marque? ... what am i missing?
Where do you get the time... sounds like a full time job!
LOL. I thought the same thing.

It's very common though. Cars are bought, driven for around a couple thousand miles(sometimes less) and returned to OPC. It's almost like renting one for a couple of months or so, although it works out quite expensive! Subsequently you end up getting all GT, RS and limited edition cars.

It is worth doing as a full time job. Even if you have 10 cars over 18 months and lose 250K over them your still in the money.

1.2 GT3 = 40k overs
1.2GT3RS = 80K overs
GT2RS = 400K overs

Circa £250K+ profit for driving round in Porsche all year. Where do i sign up?

So how does that conversation go with the OPC? - i'll order a 911 GTS, will bring it back in 3months, and order a Cayenne, will bring it back in 3months, order a panny.. bring it back in 3months... I'll have a GT car please. - ok sure Mr TDT.
Not really too sure on that yet, still trying to work it out. Guess it would be something like the above, but i'd guess the frequency has to be improved upon.

Yes there are definitely OPC's who try to operate fairly. I know of a couple that will not give the same customers all the special cars regardless of how much they spend and are more interested in seeing how many miles these cars cover in order for them to consider you for the next models.

Although my OPC has some big spenders I was told that customers who have had the last GT3RS and current GT3 would not be given a GT3RS this time around and i'd be in with a very good chance of getting one(fingers crossed)!

It's all a gamble though!
