An odd comment to make, I'm not sure anyone would unless finances dictated you needed to release some cash.
Not really as if i get offered a 718GT4 one of my GT cars will have to go..Once you've experienced a GT3 any neutered GT4 will feel boring in comparison.I have a 458 and GT3 both revving to 9K and a 981 Spyder for Manual top down cruising,,The new GT4 doesn't interest me in the slightest as all my current cars are keepers unless there is a second batch RS coming..

There is no way in hell that i'll chop in my glorious 9K revving GT3 in for a 718GT4..
I would if it were a big step on from the last one.but the old car was a bit flawed and after a GT3 which fixes the 5 areas I disliked abut my GT4 it's a hard move back.
ATM though the new cars sounds a bit too much hype and it's all about that 4.0l headline figure over making a drivers car.
if they don't fix the gearing or don't offer adjustable sus then it's a no go, having to mod a OEM GT car for track was a bad move on the last car.
I don't know why you like the 981 Spyder so much though, that's even more flawed than the GT4 was :-(.

You don’t have to take the GT4 you know. If you have the ‘superior’ car already then why not leave that allocation for someone that might be getting one for the first time?
Exactly. LIke I said, it's an odd comment to make.Another car which has really caught my eye is the new Lotus Exige 410 Sport which might take the place of my 981 Spyder if the 718 is not to my liking..I only buy cars which gives me real driving enjoyment as i can't stand the whole 'flipping process' and the dodgy games both buyers and OPCs partake in..

Im too waiting around for a 718 Spyder as a fun road car, hoping 3.8 or 4.0ltr with 420hp, same brakes and suspension as GT4, hopefully it revs to 7800 still and is NA.

I test drove an Exige 430 Cup a few months ago as I was thinking of changing. Just not a very nice car for road use, track yes but road its too frantic, rev limit is too short, gear shift mechanisim is complete ste, car jumps around all over the place.

Large displacement and no lightweight internals would give you an engine strong in low revs with no top end. That would also explain the sound of the mules we've heard.
The x51 991.1 has no lightweight internals and very decent amount of top end....Porsche911R said:

I have to say that even after only driving my recently acquired 981 Spyder a couple of times over the New Year that I also prefer it as a ‘road car’ to my old GT4. It’s far better suited to road use than ‘in my opinion’ the compromised GT4. Having said that the Cayman R is the best of the bunch by some margin!Edited by Porsche911R on Thursday 3rd January 12:14
I have a Cayenne v8 diesel as a road car. I want my sports cars to be more manic and fun for a blast.
The Spyder is nice but nice is a st word. The GT4 felt better on the road to me. All I am going by is over 10k miles in GT4's and the Spyder, although very similar isn't as focused so for me, not as good and the suspension is much harder and less good in all areas with the passive dampers. Rock hard on anything but smooth roads. It looks nice though lol
The next gen could be the perfect ticket if, like i was told by Walliser, its a chop top GT4 in all but very small changes.
There won't be a power kit, the strong to 6k revs came to me from the masseuse who knows her apples and works for Porsche in Stuttgart.
Has the Clubsport car not been launched as yet? Do we not know any details?
