We were talking about the clubsport hence track car , and the only Ferrari I have , hence been able to look underneath is a GT3 version , although yes it has a wing .But the 430 and 458 Challenge cars ( clubsport version ) did not have one initially ( later pack ) .
But it's not exactly the same thing. The 430 and 458 challenge cars are a one make series competition car. They are not required to compete against cars that may or may not have extra downforce ie wings. The 430 gt2 or gtc cars which did race other marques definitely did have a rear wing for example.anonymous said:

Again you’re probably right , but there is an argument that they are such different feeling things that actually the speed is only one part of the mix - it’s certainly not why I like driving GT cars - they are greater than the sum of thier parts IMHO - I really like them As a current non GT4 owner who has had a LOI in for years for this mega hyped new model I have been following this thread on and off since it started.
I can’t help but read this latest news with interest and If as it now appears this car is just quite a simple tweak on the current one and not the much hyped GT3 4.0 motor then that leaves me asking:
1. How much will they charge for the new car (can’t be a massive premium over the old one)?
2. What effect will however many UK ones they make (400/500?) extra have on residual values of the old models and will there be an “overs” market on the new car at all?
3. And most importantly - Do I actually still want one or are there better ways to spend £70K plus!

Yep that undertray looks like the 718 equivalent of the 911R/991.2 GT3/RS undertray that was used to give a little bit of ‘negative lift’ or lift reduction without adding any drag.
GT3 .2 undertray with fins it’s a different league. On the latest picture posted the central tunnel looks better although pretty hand made...
Need to wait the road car for final judgement.

Yeah Ferrari under car aero is just to make money , as not low enough , it is not ground effects ( although that was interesting to drive ) but the air flow under the car so ride height not an issue.Pista rear diffuser , guess with a flat floor and space over the diffuser where the air is channeled . We have a ramp and always good to look the underside of different race cars .
Anyway as usual whatever ....

1. c£10k more expensive than the 981 c£75k is expected.I can’t help but read this latest news with interest and If as it now appears this car is just quite a simple tweak on the current one and not the much hyped GT3 4.0 motor then that leaves me asking:

2. Slightly higher numbers than the 981 GT4 around 650 expected for the UK.
Initial cars flipped for c£110k to £115k plus. Spec dependent.
No major affects on 981GT4 residuals anticipated in the short to medium term.
3. Don't know.
Wouldn't get too excited about the probabilities of a 4.0 GT3 engine in the GT4. If it is this engine it will be massively detuned and strangled with horrific economy, not unlike the 981 C2S lump.
In many ways a higher revving powerkit 3.8 would be preferable imo.

Regardless of figures and gearing, what’s the likelihood of Porsche making a new manual GT4 slower than the 718 PDK GTS?
Can’t see that happening
I agree with that....not thought about it but it’s a good point. You can’t have a GT car having lesser performed than a GTS. Looking at the numbers the GTS isquoted as 4.3 secs and the 981 GT4 4.4. Small power bump of 718 GT4 might see it a bit faster, Can’t see that happening
I doubt most GT4 customers would care if if it’s was faster... the GTS boys would be the ones making a song and dance about it.
