The rear of the Cayman / GT4 is its weakest point in terms of looks.
Needs a wing more so than a GT3 in my opinion.

Sorry Twinfan, I forget that you drive the inferior GTS wink

If its really good this time, you know that you're going to have to stump up 100k!

laugh

I'd be VERY interested in a GT4 Touring, it'll all come down to price for me. Oh, and the small matter of trying to secure an allocation for one...

yep, I doubt it’ll command more money although funnier things have happened.

Not so keen on the design of the new hollow spoke wheels either. Plus the dodgy rear. Might be better in the flesh but I reckon the gen1 car will be the prettier sister and possibly a bargain in comparison

OK, so the latest info from Rennteam is:

Its a 4L in four HP configurations.

- 370-380hp Boxster/Cayman 6...yes, that is what its called, 718 Cayman 6.
- 425hp GT4 manual only
- 485hp GT4 RS late 2020 or early 2021. PDK only. Very limited car
- And somewhere in between they will squeeze a special Boxster Anniversary with possibly 450hp.

So an admission that flat4’s are a failure, or will they retain the flat4’s and just price these new 6 pot cars a lot higher?

I think the '6' will sit above the 718 GTS, and the GT4 above that, given that Porsche likes a BHP-driven hierarchy.

If the info is correct, it would tie-in with a more expensive GT4 than we're expecting and it explains the 'touring' mules and why they don't have GT4/Spyder front ends, brakes or wheels...

So now that there are a number of different versions coming, do you think the spy shots of the 'GT4 Touring' was in fact just a Cayman 6...

My thoughts exactly - it's got even more silly now, just when I thought it couldn't!

...and they are all powered on fairy dust biglaugh

Has there ever been a more hyped and drawn out car launch?

It's absolutely barmy isn't it?

I can see them turning up right at the wrong time, being massively overpriced, and demand being less than expected...

And what would be the point of these forums if owners couldn't talk them up? biggrin:

Yes, crazy how long its taking.

I don't think demand will be an issue. Even back in 2008 i remember the newly launched R8 getting 20K+ premium. However if there isn't a huge demand I'd guess they would simply build less to keep demand high.

They also have the super exclusive GT4RS model up their sleeve to ensure that people are still banging the OPC's doors down trying to secure a car! wink

That's an awful lot of variants. Someone is smokin

And what happens to existing GTS sales 365hp to 370/380? There's not a lot of room there before we're in 911 territory. Just don't see it myself, they'll thin those down to one or two max.

Sounds good though wink
