Anyone think there will be a 'Touring' option without the big spoiler ?

That’s a lovely looking car and it looks like it’s been set up very well.

Agree it’s quite, i personally can’t wait to see these as I think it’s going to be one hell of a car.

No. I think the Cayman-6 will cover that aspect, along with the Boxster-6 sister car.

I'm not as optimistic as you, GT4RS. For me a sports car is all about the engine and I think the 718 GT4 will be too strangled for my tastes.

Like the last version, and all current 718s, I suspect it'll make good power and be quick but it won't sound right or feel right under load. That's fine for others, but as I'm not chasing lap times or outright performance stats, those things really matter to me.

^ Well, after waiting, waiting and waiting for months, maybe 2 years or so, it is certainly the most anticipated car for 2019/20 I think

Now; Insert voice Steve Sutcliffe;

Steve Sutcliffe once said about the 981 GTS " This could be this, could be the best sportscar this century, I could live in it forever" or something like that.

Maybe his next frase for the 718 GT4; This could be, this could be the most disappointing sounding sportscar ever.......

And we all waited that long :-)

I’m no driver by any means. Im sure just like every generation progression this car will be better now they have had further 3 years of testing.

I’m interested and personally think it looks stunning and will express my interest in ordering one.

And that's all fair enough of course. I'm just not expecting miracles because of the GPF smile

Lol still remember that video, together with the one from Henry Catchpole sold me the 981 GTS.
And basically you just reminded me that 718 GT4 could be a big disappointment coming from the brilliant 981GTS, definitely in terms of sound.

If confirmed only choice left then is finding a low mileage GT3 or jump to a 570S.

So I assume you think the new batch of 3 rs will be less a drive than the one without the GPF?

Porsche will adjust the power delivery so you won’t even know the gpf is on there

I do indeed think they'll be a lesser car as I think those GT3RSs, if they appear at all, will have less than the 520bhp of a non-GPF car.

I’m a PH lurker but feel compelled to post that this new GT4 really excites me. So much so I have booked a long weekend to visit the Goodwood FOS, as the internet hype states that this will be the reveal. The car in the ring video looks amazing! The want is strong with this one

The sound is definitely different but then we have new noise regs now and apparently no exhaust button either. Due to this and its popularity for track, they must have quietened it down a fair bit from the raucous 981 GT4. Shame for some, good news for others. Nothing an aftermarket exhaust mod won’t fix depending on your appetite for a warranty.

Also thinking that due to the interesting news about a Cayman 6, doesn’t this all but confirm to us that the engine is simply just not going to be a powered down GT3 unit but a 4litre version of the old Carrera S. They wouldn’t be putting a GT engine of any sort on a non GT car.

Exactly - the engine won't be all that special IMHO. Looking forward to the details of it though!

Yes, should be a good car though. They’ve had long enough to make sure of that!

I think my Spyder might be staying though!

I told you Dave that after your initial misgivings about the 981 Spyder, given time it'll get really under your skin as mine has..I see mine as a long term keeper especially if the new one sounds worse, much more expensive and heavier.
