A Rennlist poster also stated year end now. It's getting ridiculous.

Any updates on launch dates. Is it it still Goodwood?
I heard this weekend that cars will be going up the hill @ Goodwood with handful of cars for the UK by the end of the year.
Further production next year.

Fkall then!

I will be trading my CGTS end of this year then for I may know what...., cannot wait longer for a car that is already based on same platform then my - 5 yrs old to be in December - CGTS.

It’s done then, been a pleasure to entertain with Porsche.

Also my salesman told me EoY a month ago....

I am having a little rethink too. I love driving a NASP manual sports car, I’ve had different sports cars since I got my license as a teenager. After trading in my Ferrari, then Porsche I thought I’ll put down a deposit on a 718 GT4 - (switched to a Spyder) - and get on the list and make this my forever car. However, my fear now is with the significant shift in automotive powertrains from ICE to electricity, government legislation will make it prohibitive to drive and own one. What will the next decade hold for ICE sports cars? I am now wondering if I should shift my money over and put a deposit on an electric Porsche - Taycan or future electric/hybrid Spyder. I really don’t want to do because having had a very early test drive and order on a Tesla Model S, I found driving these cars non engaging - despite break neck acceleration. But it seems like every major manufacturer is making the shift. And really self driving is on the Tesla goal list. Our government has brought in a carbon tax, some other nations have put a huge fee on yearly permit renewal and I think future elected governments will reflect how younger generation sees ICE cars and it will become such a hassle to own and operate that it will become not only a social stigma but an economic deterrent as well. I was once very excited about this car and if it was released 24 months ago I’d be an owner for sure but now I am feeling somewhat ambivalent given the recent headlines in the news and debates over climate change. Please somebody tell me this point of view is baseless.smile

Thanks for a making such a compelling response and response. I do have other cars - one a PHEV. I would love the 718 Spyder to be the forever car as I think it will be one of the last of its kind. And the fact that you can row your own and will (hopefully) have a sweet 6 NASP will make it all the more sweeter.

If the 718 GT4 really is delayed towards the end of the year - which surely isn't the best time to be buying such a car - I do wonder if 981s will see a little price support throughout the summer? I was considering a move from my current GT4 to a 718, but now wonder whether to hold on to it or possibly even consider a 992 911CS........

First world problems I guess! smile

Unfortunately the turret failure issues affecting GT4s isn't helping sales and prices.

Although mine hasn't collapsed as yet lol.

Let’s not forget the turret issues is effecting the 991.1 gt3 and 991.2 gt3 as well, you just don’t hear of it so much as many are garage queens, in all fairness gt4 cars seem to get used as intended by many owners 👍

Gt4 cars seem to be selling well at the moment compared to other GT cars, they don’t hang around for two minutes in my OPC

Have you got a link to the 991 turret issues? Haven't seen or heard of any.

Looking at the mileages GT4s as likely to be a garage queen as GT3 btw.

Lowering ride height and driver error as usual are a lethal combination.

Any issues with the 981 Spyder with regards to the turret issues?

Surely if it was a major issue, there would be a recall?

All 9x1 share the same front end so could affect any model overtime especially models driven daily over our crappy pot hole ridden roads!

I guess it’s down to how these cars are driven, I would imagine many have had a hard life and one or two have just been unlucky and hit a rather large pot hole in the road.
