it's called owning a GTS 911 and a GT3 and running them side by side day in day out. GTS is on GT3 tyres sizes etc so unless you drive them back to back the GTS will feel mega.

people just don't own or drive the cars at the speeds I do to offer the differences. As I said the GTS is planted to 90 odd mph, I'll take the GT3 to 150+ on the road no issue and it's planted as fk. start to get to 120mph in the GTS and it is all a bit light at the front.

is what it is, and why I liked owning the GT4, both Spyders, 996 GT3 etc etc and get the miles on them to offer my opinions and reviews on the cars I own good and bad.

991.2 GT3 is a mega weapon all told, wing or not it offers more than any one could want in every respect, it's a mind blowing car to drive.

last euro hoon I did we were vmaxing in Germany in the GT4, and my wing end plates flew off in the heat !!! things get exciting about 160 mph I find, and I still had to move over for a corvette at 175 !

There is no problem with you elucidating about the driving experiences, however when you state 'people just don't own or drive the cars at the speeds I do to offer the differences' that's a statement without foundation and implying a better understanding of chassis dynamics than anyone else with one of the models you have owned or own :-)

the people who say black is white don't own a 987.2 Spyder and a Cayman R at the same time or a GT4 and a 981 Spyder op a GT3 and a GTS and then do daft silly speeds back to back

it's that simple. I own the cars at the same time offer reviews and plus and minus points and say it how it is.

forum warriors have a test drive and seem to know every thing.

if people owned the cars we talked about and offered some sane comments all would be well and a debate can be had, but people who think a 10 minute drive 2 years apart or a OPC test drive can offer anything worth while are deluded.

People say such st about the 981 Spyder having never driven a GT4 or a GT3 as an example.

forums are a pissing pot it seems nothing more that's why I left for a month, but nothing changed while I was gone.

You're missing the point, 911R:

1. You made an assumption about the experience of others as a blanket cover-all statement
2. You imply that your own experience and preferences are 'right' and superior to everyone else's

Maybe that's not how you see it, or it's not how you intend to come across, but that's how I interpret your posts.

I think that last comment is very unfair. Claiming forums are a pxxsing pot and that's why you left for a month is just you copping the nark.. You clearly have knowledge on many topics and offer a lot of useful input for people and the same has been commented here.

Then you go right off the deep end and get into a right old strop laugh

What I want to know is this:

How would a GT4 with no wing, a GTS engine, tyres off a Spyder and with 20kg of gravel in the boot handle. In a vacuum. At 153mph. On a B road.
I've tried this, (albeit with only 15kg of gravel) and there was too much front-end push for my liking. Maybe that extra 5kg of gravel in the frunk would have made all the difference?....

Actually what did change was the lack of one poster constantly insisting that his opinion was the bloody gospel and was the only thing that could be correct ....

Strange the consensus when we all met was it was a lovely interlude with you away:-)

At Silverstone someone likened PistonHeads to a Pantomime and we agreed in that case you were Widow Twky!

depends on your aspect of it. I report back findings and real life experiences on cars I drive and owned.

if you think you cannot feel GT3 negative lift vs a GTS at 120 mph then that's that, I can, just like I start to feel 40 kg extra in a car, and EPS st and why all my cars are modded, 1/2 are mono balled and all have custom geos, set my me for me, not generic setups or copy cat set ups.

I get quite a lot of PM asking for advice so, people can take it or leave it.

what happens is on here people get nasty if they disagree, but then fail to back up why they disagree, that's forum life.

Any one who makes posts personal I tend to think have zero clue in the 1st place so it is funny ina way what people who A: cannot drive for st, or B don't own the car do post.

I goto track days and seem the only one who owns and uses a pyro, also I am the only one who seems to chalk up my tyres to see what being used, all my setups are based on chalk tests and pyro readings.

Any way back to the new GT4, I hope it's good as I'll swap my GTS for one and keep the GT3, I am in the "like a bit of down force camp"

Get yourself to Donington then and have the balls to demonstrate your skills instead of alluding to them(like the 1st gear micro skid) and how to use the pyro and chalk, careful where they might get shoved:-)

See you there then it’s a date.

If you don’t we must assume you’re the habitual bullxxiter with all the gear and no idea (ps we all know that really)

I see it's all getting a bit personal as usual! Rule of thumb if you don't have anything nice to say then don't post! Every one is entitled to his or her opinion doesn't mean you have to agree with them.As for mrD sometimes we agree sometimes we don't but no need for the other bull**** on here.
Let's move on now where is that new Gt4??????????

Whilst I admire your getting the thread back on topic, 911R is as always the infractor.

I suggested the track days to all meet up to try to dispense with it, everyone else has made the effort, he’s chosen to hide behind his keyboard again.

Make of that what you will...

As you were.

Remind me chaps. Wasn’t the original motivation for the GT track days, that we attended on Monday and the second one coming up at Donny, all as a result of a certain person banging on about his greatness and it was decided that a track day would be the ideal way for us all to observe and bow to his wheelmanship? To which, I believe, he agreed in principle and then when it cam to putting his money where his mouth is decided it was too expensive or too far to travel or some such BS. He owns a GTS and a GT3, but can afford (the time) to turn out on track with one of them to show us mere mortals what we are all doing wrong.

When did you last track your GT3 Mr D? Or the GTS? Or when are next tracking either of them, we’ll come along for a few lessons. Happy to work around you.

Hilarious. you have time and again been given reasons and damn good ones usually by people who disagree with you only for you to rubbish anything different from your opinion. Now it's your prerogative to believe whatever you want and think you feel whatever you want from your cars, just don't expect everyone to hail your statements as the oracle of knowledge. Especially given you have variously amongst other things told me 'maths doesn't matter', told Steve Rance that 'trailbraking is slower' and goodness knows however many other pearls of wisdom.

P.S You seem to like going on about how you are the only one with a pyro on trackdays as well. Well guess what, other people aren't driving gods to require such fine tuning of their cars on mere trackdays to get the cars to behave in a satisfactory manner. A good baseline with some tweaks here and there seems to be good enough for most mortals. Funnily enough a lot of those people also are able to catch a car on a properly high speed slide without feeling the need to use a slow speed non event as an example of how to 'catch' a car. Do it at craner at Donny or Pouhon at Spa before you start claiming it's a 'catch, no thinking time just a reaction'.

I will never under even the harshest torture let slip the name of the person from wales who’s handle is Taffy66 on Pistonheads who said that, promise cubs honour.

So no need for the said person to worry Mum is as always the word.
