This is posted on a Porsche google ad

“The new 718 Cayman GT4 is the perfect sports car for those who like to push the limits. Unique exterior design. Adaptive GT chassis. 6 cylinder engine. Six-speed manual gearbox. Dynamic streamliners. 420 PS naturally aspired”
Don’t forget the 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel. I wonder if it is yellow despite the exterior colour? wink

Now we just need to see what the price is!! Looks amazing though - and if the Spyder is a convertible GT4 then for me the one to have. Naturally aspirated is the icing on the cake!

Bound to sell out instantly.

So it's an enlarged 3.8 rather than the GT3 4.0? Mildly disappointing. Although I suppose they were never going to give a GT4 the full fat engine.

I think both cars look fantastic..I particularly like the 718 GT4's rear spoiler with its down turned wing ends. These are going to be bloody fast cars IMO.

Any info regarding pdk availability?

Porsche marketing is top as usual. Anyway still convinced it’s not the car for me, even with pdk. Too close to my 981 GTS...

The engine doesn't sound all that great in the video to me, decent enough but not awesome, plus I'm not all that sold on the 718 series looks.

I'm reserving final judgement until I've seen the full specs and configured one to see what price it comes out at though.

The sound seems like it is lifted from the old 981 videos and nothing like the mules.
Mild all around tweaks... but we need the details.

Looks like ChrisW has already built this car. lol. Looking forward to seeing it in the morning.

Good to see the Spyder gets a totally 'manuel' roof keeping the weight down.

Interesting to see Porsche have priced the GT4 around two and a half percent more expensive than the Spyder when the reverse was anticipated. Suppose it reflects the much larger GT4 numbers expected thus being much more profitable for P.

From that article;

"Unlike before, production for these cars won't be limited, and dealer order books are open now with Spring 2020 deliveries targeted."

Maybe some hope for us small hitters!

Great - massive hit to the overs market for these then. On the other side will mean the prices for 981 will be depressed. Hey-ho.

Indeed. Another important factor is that the Spyder has the GT chassis, so they’re the same car just one without a roof.

Methinks the Spyder could be the pick of the two..

Finally. So the GT4 is for the bloke and Spyder for the lady? Lol.

Both look fantastic. The sound is just like the 981. Sound overlay probably is the 981, they did that with 718.

Now I'd like one.....
