718 GT4 c 450 ish.
Where do you arrive at this figure? Why less numbers than the current GT4 which was well over 500? The GT4 was a success - can't see them producing less this time round.Fewer 718s for same reason as fewer gen 2 GT3s (see previous post).
It's nothing about the car being a success...thats virtually a given with any GT Porsche. They don't make GTs to make money from them as a model. They could build say 3000 and more for the UK and they would still sell.
As already said it's about brand building and increasing sales of vanilla models.

I agree— it does make business sense.... Just extremely galling to see these beauties go to peeps who have no real intent of actually driving the cars or, even worse, simply flipping them for quick cash flow.... I wouldn’t mind so much— i get the “business model”— but, in my area at least, it appears to be the same few people who get the halo model allocations, year after year..... Some diversity would be nice....anonymous said:

Exactly this.... Although.... It can be a risky “game”— a friend of mine bought out most of my local OPC within a 6 month period...!! Still didn’t get a GT2-RS allocation....!! Costly game if it doesn’t pan out....!! Think I’d just rather accept that I’m going to have to pay overs for quite a while yet...!!To be fair buying lots of cars and then selling them back over the year or years will be much the same in costs as just paying over, unless of course we talking about the real specials like the GT2RS ECT that look to be massively over list
But the new GT3 going for 40K over list but you have had to buy 6 plus cars each year to get one or be very lucky, how much has that cost you in losses ?
It's a funny game but unless I am luckily enough to get a new GT4 direct at list I won't be paying the overs game and thats if the new car turns out to be what we all hope it is, and instead i will enjoy what i have and maybe improve it and release the hidden power until I make the move to a GT3 at some point maybe

Have been considering this:

Simple bolt-on package that can relatively easily be “reversed” if needs be, for resale or Warranty claim....
that would be eye watering loud and fail MOT's https://www.fabspeed.com/porsche-cayman-gt4-fabspe...

people have to under stand what each part does, a remap gives you 405BHP so In a 981 Spyder thats very cheap, nothing like 1bhp = £1k like the lemming man said ! you are getting 30bhp for £900
the TB give the air in helps the top end the manifolds give you the grunt lower down. it's either go map only or the whole hog imo.
map is the best value but if you want that big dip gone In the torque you really need every thing.

Fair point— I didn’t notice the lack of Cat...!! However, Fabspeed do make headers with a 200 cell sports cat— together with a Valvetronic muffler/back box— surely these should both keep within MOT emissions limits, and keep the “noise police” at bay on track days....?? Or do you reckon this is all a bit “overkill”, and a simple COBB tune would be sufficient to see impressive performance gains....?? Appreciate any feedback on this, as I have pretty much zero chance of acquiring a 718 GT4, and I’m not sure I could part with my current GT4 anyhow....!!
If I keep mine I will be gettingAir filters, inlet, Cobb tune and manifolds with cats and leave standard exhaust but change the restricted tail pipe set up, get a map done to run supper unleaded (shell) and might also get the manifold where you can easily remove the cats and fit a pipe so no cats and a map on the Cobb to suit, just for the times when you can run on track (noisey day) and the times when you want to be very loud lol.
Should see over 430 with the cats and over 440 with out and that should be very nice indeed and make the car quite complete along with the few mods I have already done to the suspension and only other thing I would like to try is the dsc upgrade box as I do like to brake late and hard and have felt the rear end get quite loose when you do with is a bit unnerving

im not to clued up on GT4 tuning but can you post a link to where you can buy a remap for £900 and that releases 30 extra horses all by itself.people have to under stand what each part does, a remap gives you 405BHP so In a 981 Spyder thats very cheap, nothing like 1bhp = £1k like the lemming man said ! you are getting 30bhp for £900

or will you choose to ignore this request?

How do people buy 6 cars a year from one marque? ... what am i missing?
Where do you get the time... sounds like a full time job!
LOL. I thought the same thing. Where do you get the time... sounds like a full time job!
It's very common though. Cars are bought, driven for around a couple thousand miles(sometimes less) and returned to OPC. It's almost like renting one for a couple of months or so, although it works out quite expensive! Subsequently you end up getting all GT, RS and limited edition cars.
It is worth doing as a full time job. Even if you have 10 cars over 18 months and lose 250K over them your still in the money.
1.2 GT3 = 40k overs
1.2GT3RS = 80K overs
GT2RS = 400K overs
Circa £250K+ profit for driving round in Porsche all year. Where do i sign up?

So how does that conversation go with the OPC? - i'll order a 911 GTS, will bring it back in 3months, and order a Cayenne, will bring it back in 3months, order a panny.. bring it back in 3months... I'll have a GT car please. - ok sure Mr TDT.It's very common though. Cars are bought, driven for around a couple thousand miles(sometimes less) and returned to OPC.
