I was trolling a little - couldn't resist.
TBH - if it is a 4-pot turbo - i don't think anyone can really be surprised - and i think perfectly rational for Porsche.
Even the F6T is rational - given the actual positioning of the product in the range and its comparative performance ceiling - as to not be too close to the GT3 at least straight out of the box from the factory.

I've been watching YouTube videos and sending my OH links to the 981 Spyders that are for sale at the minute. After watching that little vid, I see no reason why I would choose a new one over a finger-lickingly gorgeous Agate Grey 981 Spyder with carbon buckets and a 3.8ltr NA6.....<man-moment>

It may mean that the GT4 and Spyder have identical rear ends but different engines, such as the 718 and 911 GT3 share central exit exhausts. It doesn't make much sense to do that though, you would think engine development costs would want to be shared across the models.
