Great deal in the context of where these cars are priced. For me, higher than average mileage takes away the fear that piling the miles on will further devalue the car. In the grand scheme of things it makes little difference to the overall cost.
Also goes to reemphasise the importance of buying based on condition and not just mileage.

Looks great. It has sound package plus which means you can simply get the OEM nav added - it's a software upgrade an OPC can do - probably cost £1000. Get them to add it in as part of the deal. When I spec'd my 981 Spyder from new i didn't want the crappy nav but decided to spec Sound Package Plus - you get a better sound processor & you get the nav screen & nav buttons & thought it was worth doing for resale as well as it enables the next user to add the nav if they want to.Thanks for your comments so far. Exactly this ☝️.... Unfortunately, far too many of these amazing cars live out their days as “garage queens”, which is a travesty imo.... On the upside— if you are planning to actually use your car, then a great deal can be had for above average miles... So, although it will sell for less than similarly specced lower mileage cars, I’ve hopefully already offset that somewhat by getting a “cheapish” deal originally. It's £4814 to have it added according to the Porsche Tequipment site, and you won't get the maps info in the multi function display like a factory install will. You need SPP or Burmeister already.A phone with Waze or Maps, an air vent phone holder, and a single cable running neatly into the top right corner of the glovebox is the best option for a non-PCM car IMHO.

The next junction display on the multi function display is imo THE factor that makes PCM functionally much better than the built in unit. The are other advantages include cutting down on music volume so you can hear announcements. A phone with Waze or Maps, an air vent phone holder, and a single cable running neatly into the top right corner of the glovebox is the best option for a non-PCM car IMHO.
All that said if you are happy to go down the phone route, then I'd consider a Brodit bracket near the passenger footwell socket too - it's a neater solution than the air vent one, albeit the phone display is even further off axis to see. That said I have both Waze and Google maps on my phone and, as it happens, Android Auto on my other car - but I wouldn't consider using anything other than the built in unit expect under very rare circumstances.

Isn't that the price for the full install without SPP? The car has SPP. When JZM bought my Spyder (SPP but no nav), before they bought it they contacted Porsche to find out the cost to add the map software (everything else is there, such as nav buttins etc). If you ordered CDR plus it came with SPP which was the sensible thing to do if you didn't want PCM and would advise to look for if a car doesn't have PCM.It gave you all the hardware of PCM ,SPP and DAB. This was a £1k extra if I recall whereas PCM was £2k extra with £300 on top for DAB, so if maps are only £1k it works out cheaper!GT4P said:

Yep, that's what I have in my car. I doubt the maps are £1k, however I might have to ask my OPC as if they are that's a proper result......GT4P said:

As you say it depends on your height. I'm 6ft and the 918 buckets in the lowest position are superb for me as you are actually sitting very much in the car whereas with the folding buckets you don't get a choice and they are higher but then if you're shorter this might be ideal. As an aside, the way smartphone technology is moving I doubt integrated car nav will be so sought after in used cars in say 5 years from now.

If you are intending to track a GT4, I'd make sure you had a cage and harnesses - basically a clubsport pack. Harness bars are ok but i'd go for a cage as there is a tendancy for cars to dig into the soft grass if they leave the circuit and this can lead to a roll. The GT4 is a formidable track car, it would be a shame not to enjoy that part of it's capabilities

I think you have that upside down - in 5 years time I expect nearly all cars will have built in Sat Nav - all BMWs and Porsches now have, and they, traditionally have been the "meanest" with tech kit. Smartphones have 3 fairly fundamental problems - screen size and location, battery life and the need to install/remove the thing when you enter/leave your car.
