It's a dealer fit item , ie not a factory fit order, it's not listed on the booking system on the Gt4 and you cannot spec it.

Can you not read?

I never claimed it was a FACTORY option you moron!!

You have agreed tracker is a dealer fit option.....at extra cost.

Like I said it's an option then.

I rest my case.

All the OP wants to know is that some GT4s have tracker and others do not. And if his insurers demand tracker on the car, this will be a requirement.

Is that so hard for you to grasp.

Probably.

As for PCCB you might get £5k more on a RS not the £20k you harp on about !

Several on here will recollect the cheapest UK supplied low mileage decent spec used RS being advertised at JZM around a month ago (now appears to be sold) at £184k (Ultra Violet), some £20k + less than comparable cars.

Why?

It had steel brakes.

Simples.

As stunning a car as I thought it was, I think then "acquired taste" colour may have a affected that price somewhat.

Hi guys.

Thanks for your comments so far. Seems to be quite a contentious subject.

I have found a car I really like and been offered a bit of a deal.

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Only crux is it doesn't have Nav.

Thoughts?

Nav can be had cheaply via a Garmin, TomTom, Waze or Goodle Maps. If the rest of the car is spot on I don't see why it's an issue, unlike the lack of the correct seats/brakes/colour etc.

Contentious issue - many on here regard dangling wires or windscreen stickers as very low rent on a near 100k car. Seems at odds with the fixation many have with leather trim, contrasting stitching etc etc. Obviously if the OP rarely uses a Sat Nav it's not an issue. It would be, I suspect, for anyone who uses the car primarily on the road or as a daily. Whatever the built in sat navs deficiencies it is ergonomically far superior to all the aftermarket alternatives.

The system used in the GT4 was out of date when the car was being produced, 911s at the time had an updated PCM.
I find Waze is excellent (much better than OEM systems in any of my cars) and a simple phone holder which attaches to the central air vent works a treat.
If the rest is what you want I wouldn't let a lack of PCM put me off, especially if you plan to keep it for a while. The longer you have the car, the less important and more outdated the fixed PCM becomes.

Nice car go for it ! You will always get people disagreeing on spec. and colour but personally I think the cheaper cars are better value as they all have the same engine and chassis and the standard steel brakes are more than up to the job and cheaper to replace!
As for not having PCM don't worry you won't miss it and I believe that car like mine has CDR- Plus which gives you the nav unit without the maps and you also get sound pack which is better than standard and some say the Bose which was an extra and you also get dab which was an extra to PCM

UV is actually one of the better selling colours on the RS .......and relatively rare.

The issue is unless you have had both the 918 style are the more sort after option in the general domain.
No offense, but the expression is 'saught after'. I've seen you write 'sort after' at least three times before and it is grating.
In fact, it's "sought after".

The right options on a GT4 has always been a contentious issue. There are many pages on the main thread discussing the pros and cons of everything but ultimately its down to what you want.

In most cases if you want something there is a chance someone else out there will as well but naturally some things are in more demand than others.

Cars are still seemingly trading well. Mine went up with the OPC network a little over a week ago and its just sold for what I think is a very strong price. The main factor for the buyer was clubsport.

There does appear to be three crucial areas:

seats - on this front I would defiantly go and sit in each type and find out what suits you best. For me its was 918's.
Nav - even though the system is outdated there does appear to be a trend of cars without it struggling to sell but at the right price does it really matter. personally I would always spec this.
brakes - both setups are brilliant as the GT4 is over braked even with the steels. It really comes down to what suits you and if you are happy paying the premium of ceramics. I did not have ceramics but they are on the GT3 order.

All round its a fantastic car which for money which I don't think can be beaten and I will be extremely sad to see mine go.

I've seen this car at my local dealer. Very nice and in good order from what I could see and it was up on a ramp, so I looked underneath it. Nice people down there also. Good luck!

Sorry Fokker I disagree with that statement it may be true for chairs but not folding buckets!
Some actually prefer the more comfortable folding buckets and because they are rarer on the gt4 it actually reduces choice for those seeking cars with. If I was looking to buy a 991.2 gt3 further down the line I would only seek cars with said seats and have heard of new buyers of new gt3 switching to folding buckets after having 918style in gt4 for better comfort over long journeys!
Really? I love the 918 LWBs over any distance, although the longest trip is still only 3 hours. But seats are s very personal thing.

Again, as someone who's gone through the process of buying a GT4 through the OPC network in the past few weeks, it's very obvious that buyers are still after pristine low mileage with all the trimmings and prepared to pay for it. I test drove 3 cars in 3 different OPCs all more than 100 miles apart as well negotiating prices with another 4 OPCs. I'm frankly surprised how popular the PCCBs are given the premium, but cars with CS, Ceramics and LWBs don't hang around under £90k. Colchester were asking £98k the other day. That's a bit rich but someone might walk in feeling flush one day.
ok mine is RY, Jan 2016 reg with PCCB, clubsport, leather, lithium battery, PDLS, std radio, std AC, Suntek PPF
1500 miles
will sell for 88k

Sports crono unlike any other Cayman does nothing, so it's a track app only, it's not needed for any throttle response change or sport mode, it's just a clock !
I thought in these cars it gave you instant rev matching on the downshift (driver not needing to do it themselves)

You are correct re: sports chrono for the 981 and 981S. The GT4 however has rev matching without needing the sports chrono option.

If you would like a reference point I bought a one owner car from an OPC earlier this month and paid 5% over the original list price of the specific car. You can find all the option prices on one of the other threads if you want to make a similar comparison.

My car has done 10k and has the chairs, for reference. So in other words high mileage and awful spec biggrin

Good luck!

As a further reference point.... I bought an “extremely high mileage” (24k) one owner GT4 from an OPC last month— I paid roughly 10% under list. It does, however, have every option box ticked aside from ceramics.... For me it’s absolutely perfect: I use it daily and plan to keep hold of it (for both track and road use), so I’d rather have a higher miler than a lower-specced car, despite its lower resale value.... I used the same philosophy when I purchased my 987 Spyder— driver/purist spec, but 40k miles on the clock..... Loved every moment of ownership, and still regret selling up last year— it was a thing of real beauty.... Mileage/Spec are all very personal things, and a lot depends on how you are going to use the car and how long you intend to keep hold of it imo.
