Thanks guys, so based on last models prices I can see the new gt4 starting with a base price close to 70k
Think it will be far more expensive if the rumours are correct about using the 991.2 GT3 engine as a base. They won’t use an old engine though so it’s either a flat four turbo or a lesser powered GT3 engine which is really expensive.
Andreas guy has said all GT cars will be N/A
I don’t know what it will be but can’t see them using the old engine even though there’s plenty left in it, just because it’s, well old!
I can’t imagine I’ll get to buy one but hopefully it brings the prices of the 981 down and I’ll chop in my GTS for one even though I’m properly in love with the GTS

Can’t see them using the 991.2 gt3 engine as it’s designed for a totally different price sector. It’s more likely to be turbo charged due to price.
I just don't see it because of costs. The difference in costs for Porsche turning up the wick on the 718's Turbo 4 pot vs engineering the installation of the GT3 engine and the going through all the hugely expensive approval tests would be a massive difference I would think. Porsche didn't put rear seats in the GT3 Touring because of type approval tests according to a journalists who was on that press event recently.

GT2 has never been N/A, so statements like "all GT cars" are a bit weird in itself. And there has only ever been one GT4 so it is not like it would be a departure from a long standing tradition to give it a turbo engine now. Andreas guy has said all GT cars will be N/A

I for one hope they increase prices by 50-100 percent and give it a slightly detuned GT3 engine with a manual transmission. Given that that would probably actually reduce margins on the car, I suspect a turbo engine is more likely though.
What about they just stick to the same formulas as last time? Carrera S engine, 3 ltr flat 6, twin turbo, 420bhp. keeps it above the GTS and the flat 6 gives it a USP v's the other 718 cars.
I'm sure a bit of clever mapping could even make it 405hp so it's above a GTS but not as powerful as the Carrera S.
Easy peasy and no new engine to design/build.

That's a decent probability I'd say. I'm sure a bit of clever mapping could even make it 405hp so it's above a GTS but not as powerful as the Carrera S.

I've got a GT4 and really hope they put a N/A 4.0L engine in the new one as it'll be phenomenal and I'd exchange my GT4 for it.
If they put a turbo charged engine in it, I'll be keeping the GT4 which in turn will become like gold dust due to the NA engine and manual gear box.
Win win!
