Do love the Miami blue, I wasn’t brave enough to go for it as a daily driver though

Hi Tim. Love your car. Can I ask. Have you noticed on your drivers side, the side skirt doesn’t quite reach the wheel arch leaving a slight gap between where the side skirt finishes and the wheel arch begins. It looks perfect on your passenger side. Reason I ask is that mine is exactly the same?
Thanks
Mat
They're all the same. Mine has it too. I thought the salesgirl was taking the mickey out of me when she said all the rest had it. Most annoying.

Just noticed mines the same.
Not happy about that at all.
I’m back at the dealer on Friday morning for my masterclass appointment so I’ll see what they say about it.

One of My local Porsche centres had 4 718’s in stock today. Two were bang on perfect , two had the same issue as mine. So they can be perfect it’s not a design flaw.
Did you notice whether the bad ones were boxster or caymans?

Well my 718 gts was handed back yesterday. The only fix for the short side skirt was order a new panel and then potentially have to re spray the whole side of the car. I didn’t want that so it’s had to go. So the shortest ownership of a car I’ve ever had but when you spend over £70k it’s got to be right. The OPC have around 5 other 718s with the same fault and I’ve visited 3 others who also seem to have half their stock the same. It’s been raised to Porsche AG UK so hopefully the QA at the factory will improve going forward for other new customers in the future, well once they have got rid of all the faulty ones. For me I’m back after a 911 as I’m sadly put off by the build of the 718 after this horrible experience.

How long have you had the car? and you've only just noticed it?

I noticed it the day I picked it up but only when I was washing it after I got it home, due to bad weather on the way home. I was concerned that I’d taken it home and not noticed it in the dealer. I emailed the dealer as couldn’t get through on the phone, they emailed me back asking me to take it to my local Porsche dealer as I wasn’t near to the opc I bought it from. The local opc has 4 others with the same issue and said they had one other customer complain about it already so it looked like a common fault.
You have 30 days from purchase to reject any car bought from a dealer if it has a fault, your entitled to a full refund. It may not be an issue for some people and I get that, you’ve waited a long time for the car, they are lovely cars, but when some are coming through perfect and lots aren’t I didn’t want one that wasn’t perfect.
