The warranty is good value, though it doesn't feel like it when you're paying for it! On my first major service, the OPC found that my PSE wasn't working properly (not part of the service, but something they spotted, which explained why it didn't sound as loud as it used to!). The replacement exhaust including labour was nearly £3k, so definitely worth the warranty! I also got Porsche Assist, which is a good package if you need to use it, though I haven't had to for a few years.

I won't be taking out the extended warranty next year. I have Zunsport grilles protecting the radiators and condensers on my CGTS and there's no way I'm removing them, given the protection they provide. One large stone would give a serious bill not covered under warranty.
I have Zunsport grilles on my 987.2 and it has passed the 111 point test and warranty has been renewed, with no problems. Not too bad for a 10 year old car.
I declined to pay extra for the assistance since I already have AA and a Green Flag. Three would be silly.

One way I look at it is that I’ve always extended the warranty since I got the car 6 years ago, as an approved Porsche used car. If I decided to chance it now and it failed and I got a big bill I would feel a chump.

If I’d never extended the warranty and banked the premiums I’d have a small pot with which to pay for the repairs.

So, once you go down the warranty road best stay on it
