Looking forward to collecting mine, soon hopefully - just waiting on an update from Porsche SIlverstone. Did you go PDK or manual?

Oh, and I'm part-exchanging an NA flat 6 against it. beer
I went PDK, Could have have gone either way really but was so impressed with the pdk box, the gear shifts are lightning fast and its so clever how it 'learns' the way you are driving.

When I am pushing on it's great to put it in manual and hold the gears until you want it to shift. On the flip side it makes it really easy to crawl along in the all too frequent traffic jams!

As Samhat above, I also went PDK as I had it for 8 years on my 987 Spyder and loved it - wouldn't consider a manual now. The 718 PDK has improved over earlier versions, the changes are smoother/faster and the feel of the paddles is much more positive (one of the first things I noticed on my first 718 Test Drive ).

Old school manual for me, I like the interaction. PDK is to much like a computer game, just steer and squirt and you can get well within licence losing territory without even noticing when in auto mode nono

Hiya fellow 718 lovers.

Am currently endlessly revising my spec until the factory reopens to new orders, envious of those who have one to drive in the coming summer! Please post more pics of your lovely machines out and about smile

Help me out: SportChrono...what does it do in a manual car and does it depend on the mode?
Automatic dimming mirror and rain sensors...what is the standard windscreen wiper control on 718 like?
Do the manual heater controls reset every time (to the wrong temperature for me) or was I using them wrong in the demonstrator I had?
Does lava orange go with crayon/blue sportex? (strangely enough I haven't seen this combo at a centre yet...)

Standard controls are just like any car, one click turn on the stalk to have intermitted, then medium continious wipe and fastest wipe. Dimming mirror stops those tracks and 4x4 dazzle you at night which is one main reason i got it as my slk dont have any of those options and i regret everytime. i would also pay to get some kind of parking aid if its your daily.

I’d be very careful with lava orange in general, make sure you’ve seen it in all lights. I nearly went with it after seeing it at the PEC as it looked amazing but out on the roads I’ve seen a couple and it looks salmon in some lights. I’m very glad I didn’t get it.

That said if it is for you I’m not sure it would go with crayon blue , agate grey for me would be the best option.

Sport chrono gives you the rev matching on manual , I believe it gives you dynamic engine mounts too. I’d have skipped it on a manual

I went manual as well. The 987 we're trading in is a manual; and my other daily is an auto. Need to keep some variety!

Have specced ours in:

Guards Red with gloss black doorhandles and 718 badge
20' Carrera alloys, also gloss black
A few bells and whistles; parking / autodim etc.
