Hi, looking for some advice on my 987 2006 cayman. when turning at low or moderate speeds there is a clunking from the rear and it is loud enough to hear with the windows closed, does anyone have any idea or suggestions to what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance !

What differential is fitted to the car?

AFAIK Porsche didn't offer limited slip as an official option until 2009, although aftermarket versions were available. Sometimes they can make a noise when the car is turning.

Otherwise you could be looking at drive shafts, internals or perhaps bushes.

If you jack up one rear corner of the car at a time and turn the wheel backwards and forwards by hand you may feel/hear any drivetrain issue.

Hi, I am not 100% sure what diff is fitted. I assume it’s the standard one. I’ll follow your advice later on to see if I can hear any noise. Thanks again !
