Looking at this one guys: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Just seems a bit on the pricey side. Looking for your view on the market so I don't make a stupid purchase.

Thanks,
Eddie

It's toppy for a non-OPC car but it's a good spec with only the slightly higher mileage working against it.

Does it have a transferable Porsche warranty? If not, factor in circa £2k to put the car through the 111-point check and add 2yrs Porsche extended warranty. If you can get it for around £53k I think that would be reasonable but will the dealer drop that far?

I'd probably say that about the mid point in the pricing from having a quick look around. Also I wouldn't class that car as a massive spec ether but that's just my personal opinion.

It's a good spec. Pretty much the same as mine. wink I'd agree with Twinfan's comments on price.

My car is very similarly specced too. I think it's a good spec, I didn't say massive wink

I nearly bought one of these 18 months ago.

They don't seem to have dropped in value much.

Buy a base Cayman AND Boxster instead?

Nope. I've had my car two years (bought new) and do around 3500m a year. After an initial drop I don't think it's moved in value since.

I was offered £53K for mine last week by an OPC.....strong trade money, although I believe they have a buyer lined up. They know my car is A1 too!

The retained value for the CGTS is a world away from money-haemorrhaging M-cars and AMGs.....a lovely feeling!

The car looks great but it's a bit on the pricey side. I bought a very similar spec GTS for around 3K lower than that with 7K fewer miles a few weeks ago.

I've also been watching the market for a manual Cayman GTS 981 and came across the car at 0260cars. It's priced at £62,950 which seems quite a bit compared to what was available a few weeks ago.

Any comments?

try one 1st, 85 mph in 2nd with the 3.4 engine is not great, also it's gen 1 eps again poor.
The 981 range feel move alive in PDK.

That's OPC money. Far too expensive for a non-Porsche dealer.

Nothing wrong with my manual CGTS, and several other owners on here would also agree.

I think it’s a stunning thing, with very good spec,,,, no sports chassis though.
It would be interesting to know the history of the car. Not being an OPC, they might struggle to sell it for that money, but of course it still has 2 years warranty to run. Subject to the usual checks, I’d be tempted for about £59K.

Eddie, being serious for a moment, have you tried 2.7 and S models too?

I test drove both and went for the 2.7 to be able to use the power and hear the engine scream more often.

You could save yourself £20k and have more fun too?

On the other hand, that extra £20k will gain you 0.8 seconds 0-62 from base to GTS.

Nothing wrong with PASM - it's fantastic on UK roads, Jekyll and Hyde smile

Hiya. As an alternative option, my GTS is on the market and considering dropping the price slightly. It’s the white one at RPM. Let me know if you’d like to find out more. V

we know you like it, but it's the least fun Cayman to drive ! due to the 2 reasons I stated. long gearing with less torque and crap EPS.

it is what it is and you love them, but it's like saying black is white with you some times. A Cayman R makes a 981 feel like a Audi, I won't say VW as my Golf CS has more feel than a 981 ! great chassis ruined by gearing and eps which then just makes it a nice car but very much more suited to PDK.
