986 2.7 tyres

Currently have 4-5mm tread left on Continental Sport Contact 2 (N2) 205/50ZR17.
Annoying slow leak/puncture nearside front. Hoping it's just valve or repairable.
Can't find 50 profile SC2 at the moment so if I have to replace it'll mean buying two tyres.
Is 55 profile going to make any perceivable difference to the ride/handling? It feels great as it is.

Thanks. Online guide using my reg number said they're recommended. Didn't check properly.
Fingers crossed it can be repaired otherwise I'll be buying two new tyres.
