But is the steering up to your standards?
^Yes !!I used to own a BMW E82 1M (HPS), simultaneously with the 981CGTS (EPS), and now the F87 M2 (EPS)
I do find the BMW steering better, as in faster initial steering input and a quicker steering ratio. That is how I like it and how I want the car to react, the CGTS is a better and superior car in all other aspects compared to either BMW, but NOT on steering behavior IMHO.
Yes the Porsche will be the faster cornering car, but for me it is all about how it corners, the steering feel (not meaning faster)
My previous CGTS and current M2 together;

I agree with the colour sentiment: mine was at an OPC yesterday for the check and warranty extension.
It was, by some way, the best looking car there, not just the colour, but the proportions too.
I think the CGTS is the archetypal Porsche, perhaps more akin to what a 911 used to be.
I still haven’t seen another one on the road, a nice thing indeed.

For the package I really like my BGTS, it's manual and has X73 Sport Chassis. For the money there's nothing else I prefer. Had it for 2 years now. Yes the steering could be better but I really do enjoy driving the car hard around B roads on the ragged edge. I'll get it on track next month, no doubt the P-zero road tyres will let it down, but can easily put Cup2 tyres on.
Really like my GTS as a package it does alot and gives me alot of fun. I'll upgrade to a GT4 at some point but for now I can't find anything I'd rather have at that price point.

Here you go then amigo! It was, by some way, the best looking car there, not just the colour, but the proportions too.

Wonderous beautiful thing.......
:-)
I think you should test drive a few like a 911.2 GTS or a Normal 911.2 CS and the T! I really like the 911.2 CS, you get a good engine sound and immense torque. My 718 GTS has abit of flat spot when taking off, after that it flys til 7k and its crazy! The twin turbo on 911.2 makes the flat spot much less noticeable.

On the subject of the 981s steering, I think it depends how much it personally bothers you. Throttle response is my #1 deal breaker, to others it's steering. Again, it's all just opinions at the end of the day. There's no right or wrong.
for me a lot, upto 70% the GTS and even my 981 Spyder is a great car but once you push the worst the car starts to feel imo, to a point at 90% you drive on faith lone lol.I can see why people love it as not many people really push these cars, most people love the 981 Spyder and yes it feels mega at 70% and has zero understeer etc etc , but again even with that car with the bigger brakes and Turbo S steering rack, start to push and the worst the car feels. Where the GT4 just kept giving the 981 Spyder fails.
While they are classed as sports cars my Golf CS has more feel on the limit sorry to say. Which then just makes the 981 range just a nice car, which is enough for some.
I daily the 981 Spyder again atm as I have given the Golf the other half. it makes a great daily run about driven normally, like wise so does the GTS.
Looks like the 981 Spyder is growing on you - I really, really miss mine

Hi D , quick question - if you could only have one would it be a Cayman R or your old Spyder (not the 981) and why ?

I absolutely love my 981 Spyder and when the sun's out its my first choice, even over my GT3..The steering feel and response is in a different league from a 981 GTS, which feels vague and lifeless in comparison..Its a fantastic complement to my new GT3..The only Porsche which i've owned and regret selling is the 991.2 GTS which made for a fantastic all rounder and can see myself buying another one soon but a manual this time methinks..!Looks like the 981 Spyder is growing on you - I really, really miss mine

Couldn't agree more on the 981 Spyder, probably the best value, smiles per miles, all round Porsche I've ever owned - I loved mine Helicopter123 said:
Wheels look great, but ride must be brutal on those?
If they are the correct sized 20s, then ride probably fine. I've driven several 981s and 718s on 20s and the ride is very good. The nicest, quietest, riding, recent sporting Porsche, I've ever driven was a 981 GTS - with 20s, PASM, PCCBs, Goodyear F1s - and lovely steering feel and road handling. Hence why I liked it so much as a road car.
