I’ve just ordered ps4s’s for my front (987s)

To clarify I am talking PS4S not PS4

I realised that one of my ps2 tyres at the rear has a nail in beyond repair. The other side has 6mm left and only 2 years old so am just going to replace the damaged one

I would rather have ps4s tyres as they are newer tech than the ancient ps2 but can’t get ps4s on the rear size

what would you do? Options are:

1) change front to ps2 so at least all 4 match

2) fit PS4S on front and ps2 on rear

3) get the 265/40/19 PS4S for the rear (should be 265/35/19) so they all match and are all PS4S even though ratio is slightly out

I’m not bothered about N rating just want a good handling safe set up

I’m going to mix PS4 front with SS rear on my 987 to replace the PS2 all round I currently have fitted seeing as Michelin have now withdrawn the UK launch date for PS4 in the size 265/40/18.

Can you get SuperSport for the rears and sell the used PS2?

Same tread depth and pattern on an axle is the story I have always heard. My first Boxster ('99) had Pirellis where even the tread pattern was different front and back and the set was IIRC original equipment from the factory.

...unless it's under warranty, then all four have to be the same, and to spec.

You can buy PS4s in the right size for that car ! I have them on a 987.

On the 19s for the rear there is a PS4S showing as available in 265/35 with Camskill - so it is possible to have PS4S on all four corners.

On 18s there is nothing available in either PS4 or PS4S on a 987 in 265/40.

PS4 Not available for 987?

I was offered PS4 in 265/40/18 but told it’ll take over a week to get to where I live. I had the mot expiring in a few days so opted for PS2. Old tech but I’m well happy with them. Better than my Potenzas.

Maybe if I had opted for the PS4s and they tried to order them it might have then come up not available but the tyre centre was sure about it and offered them as a suggestion so suprised to hear some say you can’t get them in 265 for the 987.

No PS4 in 265/40/18!in the UK - Michelin options are PS2 or Supersport. Was supposed to launched in that size in the UK at the beginning of the year, then out back to April/May and then cancelled indefinitely as far as I can gather.

I’ve got 19’s
And one of the ps2 on the rear was like new so in the end I just replaced the other rear with a new ps2 and put two new PS4’s on the front. It handles beautifully.
