I’ve had a couple of advisories on the MOT of my 987 Boxster S - one is seepage from the seals to the power steering rams (both sides), and the other is that there is slight play at inner rack ball joints. Are these likely to be related and do they have the potential to be serious or just minor issues to fix?

Ball joints wear out, and seals eventually start leaking. I don't see much reason why they would be connected. It's a Porsche, so unfortunately probably fairly expensive...

The leak on the PAS rams will only get worse, had this on my 987 and eventually had to have a new rack fitted at PCT Porsche, not a cheap job I'm afraidfrown

Inner rack ball joints no biggie, worth having them done to keep a tight feeling to that legendary 987 steering.

You'll destroy your front tyres if you don't get them fixed.
