if I position the switch in the middle the lights in the foot wells and reading type near the mirror all light up
if I then turn the ignition and start the engine, I presumed that the lights would fade out.....(not the case) they stay on permanently
if I then switch the engine off and lock up after about 20-30seconds they switch off
so my thoughts are if there’s a dimmer type unit has it gone faulty ?
or could it be faulty door switches ( but both sides wouldn’t go at the same time)
I’m I tad stuck
any thoughts anyone ?
I've been to Porsche Teesside who ran a diagnostic (nothing showed up)
they tried doing a reset and delivery reset ( nothing)

But warning light on the dash PSM FAILURE

I've not had these issues on my Porsche but they sound like low battery voltage. A battery can show 12v on a voltmeter when tested and deliver enough current to turn the starter but it may still be a "bad" battery. When you draw a high current by operating the starter the battery voltage can drop very low for a few seconds - too low to run all the modern electronics properly. This may trigger false warnings and/or cause loss of memory. I have experienced both of these on other cars.

On a car with start/stop a classic sign of weak battery is when the engine isn't stopping at all, or takes a long drive before the system begins to operate.
