Lepsons certainly know what they are doing!

Will go well with the satin black sprayed Spyder side vents.

Haven’t updated this for a while but car is currently in the garage having a full m&m manifold back exhaust system with 200 cell cats. Picked this up for an amazing price from a German ebay site.

Last October had a tyre failure so ended up with PS4s all around. Transformed the car over the old PS2. So much more comfortable. Also did goodridge stainless lines. The brake pedal is so much firmer now and way more progressive. I think some PF pads will go on next.

Fast road gel was also done at nine excellence. Didn’t have much time to drive it properly due to all these lockdowns but really looking forward to the summer this year.

Hopefully the old hairdryer sound is replaced by some quality flat 6 sounds.

Thinking to finish it off with a remap but prices vary so much. Chip wizards seem to have a great rep and reasonable price at 400 plus vat. Did the same on my Subaru with a know tuner and the live map was around 500-550 I think doing it on the road.

Few pics but need to get the SLR out still!

What spring rates would you recommend for the Ohlins - road use only.

There was an article CG did where they recommended reducing rates to 50nm front and 70 nm rear. Ohlins recommend 70nm front and 80 nm rear but these are generally regarded as better smoother european roads.

That's my car in the article and now having lived with it a few years for road use only I would say 40nm front and 60 nm rear, which is what I will be changing to soon.

What do you feel about the body roll? I still think mine could do with some stiffer arb, only marginally mind. If you stiffen up the dampers, i.e when using on smooth roads or the track its perfect as the roll is dialled out, just for the road I find the spring rates perfect but just needs a touch less pitch on turn in.

Are you going to re-valve the dampers to suit the lower spring rate?

Body roll with current set up is ok for me but you make a good point, Centre Gravity have suggested maybe going stiffer and I asked about Cayman R roll bars but they seemed to think the difference wouldn't really be that noticeable and said if I wanted stiffer aftermarket was the way. I will probably stick with standard ARB for now and see as my car is 90 pct road but when on track stiffen more on the rebound, they have said no need to re-valve so I go with them as they are the experts.

As another 987.2 2.9 owner I’ve enjoyed reading this thread - thanks!

Am also due new tyres later this year - a cursory glance suggests that PS4 tyres not available for the rears (265 on 18 inch wheels). Where did you manage to find ones that fit? Are they PS4 or PS4S as I hear they are v different.

I will be interested to hear your thoughts on your latest upgrades particularly to responsiveness and torque.

Thanks for keeping the thread going!

thanks buddy. yes the PS4S are in 19". i did get a set of PS4S in 18" for my Subaru which comes with 235/40/18 all around but i guess these would only work on the front of the 2.9.

I picked up the car today from Parr in Crawley. Nothing short of amazing service by them and their wealth of knowledge really shines through when things get tricky.

having had a brief run back home, i am thinking this is the TUV version of the exhaust as it is really quiet, a lot quieter than i was expecting considering 200cell cats. last time i did such a mod, it made the car an animal sound wise (supercharged JCW with factory JCW exhaust)

however what it has done is just increased the creamyness of the engine 10 fold. the torque dip at 3 -4 is really reduced heavily now and you can see the numbers on the speedo increasing far faster than before. when going through bends you can really get rid of the front end roll by applying more throttle and it now has much more mid range torque to play with the balance of the car. not so fast and torquey however that you cant really get into the upper reaches which is exactly what i wanted to avoid.

around to the redline it just pulls so cleanly and static throttle blips see the engine responding far far quicker. almost like a lightweight flywheel has been fitted. the car is fantastic on the b roads, proper little missile and so much fun.

As I use the car a fair bit i am happy it isn't silly loud, I quickly dropped the roof for 2 mins and the sound was much better. Coming into my village it reverberates a lot more of walls, houses etc so just generally beefier. I have to say I am super happy and its a worthy mod.

I was going to drop full price on the exhaust at some point in the next year but someone was shining on me to pick up exactly what i wanted at the price i did.

will get some quality pictures and videos up of the sound very soon. all in, I highly recommend this M&M system. i think a remap will just finish it off nicely and get that TB opening the way it was designed to rather than held back by the manufacturers agenda.

haha yes the s204 is mine. got a bit of a lockdown bargain last year on that. the car is as new bar small marking to drivers bolster which can easily be repaired by a pro.

amazing considering it has 60k miles on it. took it to surrey subaru specalists last year and just said "do everything" and they changed all fluids belts, new tyres, alignment blah blah. had it mapped for uk v power but its kept in professional storage as i know the price on that is only going one way. will be getting the full underbody protection and self heal ceramic coat this year but its sporadic dry use only. it literally is as new.

Approx 335hp and 355 lb ft as stock when it was mapped. will upload a few more pics from purchase day in a mo. a real animal
