6 Cylinder 718 GTS ?
Discussion
All I have is the order form for a 718 Cayman GTS based on current available configuration, usual £3k deposit down for order.
In the back end this is classed as a 6cyl allocation. I'm expecting a slight change in price and available options though as i'm sure when Porsche finally do release the 6cyl again it will more than just an engine change, possibly new paint options, trim, matrix lights etc

so you have placed a deposit on a 4 pot ;-) but as it's not a deposit as Porsche ONLY take deposits on REAL orders, it's a £3k gamble to Styners.junct600 etc.In the back end this is classed as a 6cyl allocation. most orders like these fail, and then your OPC will say sorry sir you cannot have a 6cyl car would you like to keep the money for the 718 4 pot.
It's total miss selling and NOT how Porsche do things.
I dislike my OPC, but at least they only take money when YOU ODER your car to spec.

Fully aware I have an order on a 4pot as it stands, I just have to put my trust in my sales exec and OPC that they will transfer the order to 6cyl car once it's released.
This was the only way to join the 'Queue' for the 6cyl GTS. When everything is so speculative one can only put faith in the word of your Sales Exec and OPC.
I wanted a Cayman GT4 and was willing to be pay a small overs for a flipped one once they landed however I was told the overs on a delivery miles 718 GT4 is likely to be £110k - £120k initially, may aswell get a well specced 992 for that.
Worst case, nothing happens with this 6cyl cayman and I get my £3k back

good luck is all I can say, I switched brands as many have as they tell lies time after time. This was the only way to join the 'Queue' for the 6cyl GTS. When everything is so speculative one can only put faith in the word of your Sales Exec and OPC.

I admire your optimism & hope you get what you're after, but I wouldn't trust my OPC to get the coffee machine selection right & they have been quite clear that they're happy to fleece their customers and the wonderful Porsche allocation system for their GT cars is inherently flawed, but they won't care as long as flipped cars remain trendy.....one can only put faith in the word of your Sales Exec and OPC.

Its all speculation on names what is being dropped etc etc . My money is still on a 718 6 touring
Then your money is lost. Preuninger already said at Goodwood, that there will be no touring. The most mentioned name for the F6 718 is GTS 4.0. So I assume that name has the highest probability.

Isnt the GTS suppossed to the best model in the range? Wouldn't some see a 6 cylinder s better? The 718 6 is due to be announced in the next month. You are still able to factory build a 4t gts for delivery first quarter next year . Thats why i doubt the 718 6 wont be a GTS ?
I just hope we can get one, a Boxster 4.0 with electric roof for me is the perfect daily.
The new GT4 and Spyders are in no mans land for me, now too soft to be a weekend fun cars, and to hard for a daily. They have lost their way imo.
PDK, electric roof, flat 6 please. Unless they change the ratio's.

Tough day? Just to pick up on the sales, the point of the Evo article is to show the sports car sector is down considerably across the board including the TT which is a massive seller by comparison to even to the Alpine. Alpine sales are the only one which is up because it’s a new model and there are no comparatives.Watch the rugby not the Brexit news RR, perhaps you’ll feel better...
