I think your detailer has a tyre shine fetish. Or they drove through a bath or it. Just makes a mess of the car as the excess oil comes off the tyres and mists the side of the car.Car looks great though, tyres aside. Porsche front ends look so much better without plates.

I did tell him to wipe the tyre shine off before I left. Still had to rinse off the sides when I got home.Car looks great though, tyres aside. Porsche front ends look so much better without plates.
Great job on the front PPF though, a really good fitter. and one of the best if not the best wrappers in the UK.
Hence I knew he would take to PPF ok.

The only tyres dressing I've ever found OK is the Swissvax Pneu matt (I think it was called). Not glossy and just made the tyres look new. Also doesn't cause the misting most do.Great job on the front PPF though, a really good fitter. and one of the best if not the best wrappers in the UK.

I've seen some brialliant and some awful PPF installs. Well, when I say I've seen some brialliant ones what I really mean is I haven't been able to see some brilliant ones. If I ever do a front end respray on my CR then I'll get PPF put on it. But it currently looks pretty good after some lightly sanded touch ups and a polish. Will do for now anyway.

The best Tyre dressing I have used is Gyeon Tyre. It’s matt finish and lasts better than any I have used over the years.
Interesting to hear - I'll have to try it. I like the Gyeon range (have their coatings on my cars). David W. said:

I'm due to be having my GT4 ceramic coated at the end of May. I use a guy who's ceramic coated my cars for the past four years. He is Gtechniq accredited and has the car for a week for prep and application. Cost will will be £950 and that includes a two stage machine polish, wheels, interior and all glass coated.
So he’s earning nearly £1000 a week and getting free motoring in top flight cars, he’s a clever guy ??Edited by Andy OH on Friday 17th April 14:20

I am not a 100% fan, never have been of Ceramic, but needs must due to not being able to wash my car for 4 months.
imo Ceramic is too shiny a finish you either love or well don't. I am torn, but it's easy to clean etc.
my car now.
my car just clean
Beautiful. A real credit to you. imo Ceramic is too shiny a finish you either love or well don't. I am torn, but it's easy to clean etc.

Thing is the difference between who does it and what levels they go to and can achieve are pretty big, take Rob Tomlin @ Supercardetailing or Glyn O`Donnell @ Elite Detailer, these guys been around many moons, Glyn more so than young Rob but the levels then can achieve are second to none, both top blokes and both car nuts...
You get what you pay for and there are so many products now on the market that its a minefield, as said earlier by 911R, you can have a go yourself and look at your hand work or pay some one for the task.
whatever you go for I'm sure you'll be happy, personally I think front end ppf and ceramic coating is the way forward.
I agree with that. The most prominent factor is in prepping the paintwork to make it as right as possible before applying any protectant. My Boxster came with GTechniq Platinum products applied. It's Basalt Black Jan 09. I can still see swirl marks up close, but to most people, it looks mint. To me, it seems less than half its age. The budget probably did not stretch to correcting those before application. You get what you pay for and there are so many products now on the market that its a minefield, as said earlier by 911R, you can have a go yourself and look at your hand work or pay some one for the task.
