Yellow stitching and yellow dials....R is going to self combust ! Bold spec....good for you ! I went bold with my GT3 and ticked the stupidly expensive yellow stitching box myself.
Had to be done, it’s a fun car, needs a fun spec!

Very nice, The yellow stitching, callipers etc works really well with Miami blue, I had considered those for mine but went with silver as my 981 Spyder has the yellow so wanted something different this time.

I also changed colours to really love GT silver but went Black.! Needed a change. Although I keep swinging one way and then the other. Tough life eh!!

Picked up my Spyder 2 weeks ago and can pretty much echo the sentiments of most on here.

Car looks fantastic. I went for gentian, PCCB, folding buckets and yellow accents throughout. I reckon the yellow speedo and chrono clock will be a bit much for most but I'm pretty happy with it.

Car feels like it's going to be really fast and steering is exceptional. I didn't think there could be much of an improvement in this area to the 981 GT4 but it feels so direct and go kart like. For me, I don't feel any noticeable difference in clutch weight but GT4 has been gone for 9 months already so no real back to back comparison. Gearbox is brilliant as before.

My car came with Dunlops. I know general consensus is they are not as good as the Cup 2's but I'm gonna save my own judgement for once I've done some decent miles.

Coming from 981 GT4....the sound is very different. For sure, not as good for me. I loved the snarl on the GT4. I'm not going to say it's a bad sound but more of a blare and can't say too much as I've not been above 4500 rpm yet as only managed to get 300 miles in with weather and now back at work.

I went for folding buckets as I wanted the heated seats for open top driving. This has probably been my mistake as I do feel like I'm sat far higher in the car than I did with the 918 buckets in the GT4, which I loved. I may come to get used to it but disappointed with this so far. Probably should have done more research and at least tried them first.

Need to do some research on cleaning the rag top though....realised I had no clue how to do this when I got to it on first clean and this is my first convertible.

Question for those in the know. This is first time I've had tracker. I never specced it before and it's obviously standard now. I told my insurance that car has Porsche tracking system fitted. Will this invalidate insurance if I do not pay for the subscription? I believe there is only a 6 month or so basic subscription set up as standard as far as I can see on Porsche Connect. And do you really have to carry those god awful fob's attached to keys everywhere?!

If you told your insurer the car has tracker fitted they will have assumed it is activated and quoted you on that basis.

I would advise you check whether your insurer demands tracker activation to insure you.

Some do not such as NFU even on high end cars worth £200k.

The fact the folding buckets can’t be height adjusted and sit so high really is a poor piece of design for me....I’m a bit over 6’ and really felt they are too high when I have driven cars with them....but I do like the seat as low as it can go.

I mentioned seats being critical, in my review of the 718 GT twins… it can really make or break the experience for you. AP also picked this one area out as crucial… so be careful guys.

For me it can only be the P11 full buckets.

Agree on the newer fixed p11 buckets being a better choice than the older p3 folding buckets.

Not only do they look far better (more contemporary and carbon more visible) but you sit lower in the car which is obviously beneficial in a Porsche GT.

I have to say I love the folding buckets and I don’t feel like I’m sitting “on” them but “in” them - also height for me isn’t an issue - I also have a car with full buckets and I prefer the folding - all just IMHO smile

I have gone 18 way, loved them in my 981 Spyder and I’m staying with them in the 718 Spyder however I must agree buckets look so much better, but are they more usable for what is primarily a road car.?

I think in a Spyder there's more flexibility for an appropriate choice, but a GT4 has to have P11 buckets IMHO otherwise you should buy a GTS...

You have to choose what’s appropriate for you, you know how you use the car.

18-way sport plus seats are great for daily in my experience... I have them on my 981 GTS for 3 years, great with the memory function and comfort entry.

Buckets are more of a challenge for getting in and out.

There are trade-offs so it just up to the individual, as long as they are making an informed decision.

I prefer the folding buckets as they are really comfortable. When sitting in LWBS I get shoulder ache within 30 minutes of sitting in them and they feel much harder. They just aren't comfortable enough for me. I am 6"2 and thin build.

Always found both the 981 GT4 and 981 Spyder to be relatively 'hot' cars presumably due to the proximity of the engine.

I can attest to that, I'm with NFU and just insured my 3RS this week for full market value.

That interesting you say full market value. A number of mine are on agreed value with NFU for no extra charge. Worth checking 'full market value' clause categorically does not actually mean 'invoice cost' which is the case with most insurers for new/nearly new (under 1 year old) cars.

I dealt with Mannings a couple of years back and they would only insure at max 'invoice cost' for cars worth over list ££ in the event of a claim. Others reputable insurers such as Hiscox were horrifically expensive on an agreed value basis so went with NFU who do offer an outstanding service.
