I see another spyder has come to the market to be flipped via a private add! With so little cars delivered so far you would think every other car is being flipped lol

All this talk about flippers is becoming slightly jaded.
As everyone knows- these cherished OPC customers who get first dibs on the GT cars buy so many new Porsche that the depreciation on the majority of their buys can only far outweigh the profit made by flipping the GT cars.
Let them get on with it-
More than likely they get all the specials and never buy the crap and sell the cars they don't really want! Or if do buy a macan for the wife then they would have bought it anyway!
Does make me laugh the Gt4s up for nearly £120k, personally if there is going to be overs then circa £5k is acceptable to jump the waiting list

Anyone who is prepared to pay more than £5k over list has either too much cash to worry or is somewhat crazy! No way is the new gt4 worth more than a £100k! Btw a 981gt4 can still have a 2 year warranty and most at 3 years old have barely been used so still relatively shiny and new!
Unless securing a 718 at list then a 981 makes perfect sense! If you have the money to spend over a £100k on a toy then surely you should be looking at a 991.2 Gt3!

Now that does sound good, although may sound more muted if the noise recorder wasn't sitting on top of the exhaust and was recording from distant

4.0 Manual GTS is here anyone know productions numbers I heard it’s very low?
I very much doubt it smile
200 in total
What utter tosh someone has already posted after speaking to a dealer yesterday that if ordered now it would be May delivery with a lot more to come next year. IMHO 718/6 spyder and gt4 will have a combined total of some 1800 plus cars to the UK in 2020/21. Anyone who wants one will get one and I expect there will be delivery miles pre regd cars (718/6) sitting in dealers by the end of next year waiting to be sold.
Have you seen how many unsold new 992 model cars are sitting around unsold or with delivery or very low miles!

I would have thought a 981gts would have been more than £42k trade , I am genuinely surprised, i thought they were at least £45k trade in/ private. If they end up at £43-44k private then it's a bloody good purchase! Still see some for sale over £50k

For me the science of running in an engine is not as straight forward as keeping to certain revs, it's more avoid short journeys, always get engine oil up to temperature, never drive in to higher a gear at low revs so maintaining good revs in all gears circa 2Krpm minimum ,vary the type of journey so not just sitting on a motorway at 70-80mph , and gradually increase load and occasionally after 1000miles start opening up fully to the red line also put in shells finest in the tank!

That use to be the same on the 981 gt4(I believe high temps to achieve emission figures) but if you pressed the sport button (opened 3rd rad)it would run cooler which I always pressed a couple of miles from home after a long journey to cool things down

No Sport button on the 718, it's probably triggered by driving "enthusiastically"...
That's a shame because it allowed you to control the oil temprature on a very hot day in traffic

it would open if hot standard.

….
Yes would open automatically when very hot (could be well over 115*c before kicking in)but it was nice to override before it went over 110*c and to be able to cool down the engine manually after a run when third rad hadn't kicked in and temp was 110+

Exactly! If you're fortunate enough to have the means to buy one when this is over you've probably got a good chance of getting a car built to your spec.

I bet Porsche are re-assessing the predicted production numbers of all products right now.
Corrected for you
Personally I see new gt/special products cut by a small amount with every one who wants getting one with a few spare and its your Macans, vanilla 718/992 etc that will see a bigger hit or heavy discounts

Standing quarter only 0.1 second slower than a car costing nearly 3x as much plus an extra 80hp with a "superior engine".
Does hold its own well!

See someone mentioned theirs was a PDK and 62 cars affected so could it be all incoming PDK variants?

Pulling good money still as the price difference between the latest (718) and the greatest (981) is MASSIVE and the debate which makes a better more fun road car IMO goes to the 981
All Gens of Spyders are great cars, personally I think the 987 is the greatest and makes the better more fun road car.
Current prices of some 981 spyder are bonkers but that's the market in general at the moment, yes a low miles bucket car is a good purchase but chairs at £78k really that car should be low 60s it makes a 718spyder for circa 90k look good value

Since your love for your old 997 turbo could it be a coupe v convertible thing in that you prefer hard tops ? Maybe the gt4 would have been a better fit?
I know when I have owned a soft top after a tin top and visa versa I always end up missing the latter and so the circle continues....

Saw my first 718 spyder in the wild today (Broadway car show)well actually 2 one of each gearbox flavour as well! The kind gents let me sit in the cars one of which one had the 918style seats and must say they felt more snug than the ones I tried 6 years ago in the yellow 981 Gt4 at silverstone although still not sure of the lack of lower back support !
After seeing the spyders today the want is strong!
