I think overs is finished on 718 GT4 cars. People are starting to refuse to buy them now at overs and more are about to land, even as cancelled orders as flippers bail.
Good, this is what we asked for. In Europe they have them sitting in dealerships just waiting around.
Hopefully people that have been complaining about overs, and only willing to buying at list will put their money where their mouth is and actually go out and buy and drive these now, after claiming that they wanted one, but for overs....we’ll see.
Next excuse will be, it’s not their spec... or they didn’t get to spec it...lol. Please.

718 Spyder will hold on for a while longer and they really are much rarer at the moment.

Hopefully means we’ll see these cars getting used as intended.

Its all looking good for me, I can't buy one until the end of the year anyway, and it looks like there might be multiple options now, nearly new ones hanging around, and not much of an issues getting an Q4 slot.... or even still get a 981.... I am glad this day has come!

Is the new 718 GTS contributing to falling GT4/Spyder interest?

I think so, but we have to remember it's still February too.

I don’t think so....the market was soft for these cars before the GTS was announced. I think the real problem is/was 991.2 GT3 prices. For a flipper to make money on a good spec car and a dealer like JZM to make they’re £5k you are looking at lets say £110k....that puts you within £20k of a 991.2 GT3. The GT4 might be 24 months old and have 4K miles on it but it’s there’s only one answer.

My OPC has 2 GT4s arriving this month, both available as cancelled orders ...
I was offered the choice of a couple of cars ~4 weeks ago. Both spec-locked and both said to be cancelled orders

I'm in the market for a GT4 but if I get one, I want to specify it how I want it. I'll be generous and say the spec of the cars that I was offered, "wasn't to my taste."

In Switzerland there are actually a few Spyders sat around ranging from below list to maybe slightly above. Even then though they cost more than most of the UK ones at overs.

Mine arrives in Switzerland week of 23rd March. Unfortunately I can‘t collect it from the factory as that isn‘t an option for Swiss cars. Dealer has offered to arrange for me to go to Stuttgart for a factory tour and a meal. No doubt that won‘t be cheap!

I must admit that I was looking forward to some depreciation free driving, but I‘m content with low depreciation driving.

Planning to go to Lake Garda at Easter, but my girlfriend wants to take the GLC so that we can take bikes. I might have to investigate these suction cup bike racks!

Sad state of affairs....it shows who gets priority from OPC’s for these cars. Not people that want to drive them !

The first batch of allocations was always going to have a high flipper percentage, batch two slightly less so.

From hereon in, people who actually want to drive the car will surely get them. Flippers will see how the market is and run away (hopefully)!

Yes great news flippers will end up losing money as nobody wants to buy at a premium. Time they have paid their SOR commission let’s hope they are £10k out of pocket

Nice to see a market with proper depreciation meaning the cars go to people who want them and will use them.

Think the flippers have already ruined this release, those who are starting to back out of deals have been given the pre summer released cars. If you get allocated in the next release you are not going to get a car until autumn. The market will soften further , I would be tempted to wait for a delivery next spring and hope to get a discount.

I think your over thinking it...we’re a long way from OPC’s having to discount GT cars to sell a car you can spec yourself.

Maybe a cancelled order with a non refundable deposit already in the bank account.

The latest allocations are out now, or due imminently, for builds in April/May and delivery pre-summer so there's one more batch before the August factory closedown.

If you really want a car and can wait then late 2020/early 2021 should get you one. I can't see discounts happening personally, Porsche will just reduce build slots rather than have surplus GT cars, but who knows?

Times are definitely changing, the 992 GT3 will be interesting to watch. Will the flippers be back in force and will they make any money?

I think it sounds lovely in the review videos released today. Maybe a little louder would be nice but I have no problem with the tone.
