not bad at all for this time of the year. were you not tempted to try a private sale, or try an independent?

it's certainly a lot better than the first offer i got when i was offered "a great deal" on a GT4 - almost £10k less than your valuation rolleyes

Nope, I couldn't be bothered with a private sale and all the associated hassle of getting the car to a specialist for a sale or SoR etc. Had I had a £33k(?) offer like you I may have thought differently! eek

that's bang on. they made a slightly better subsequent offer but that came with more obligations, such as taking finance and such like. i remembered reading here that premiums may not be as high as previous years and that there should be more availability this time around so politely declined.

may try again next year and who knows, maybe i'll have the upper hand by then.

I'll get the final figure tomorrow, but I believe it'll be around £42k-ish.
that's a massive result, I have know cars to sell for less from 3rd party dealers stuck with them !!

£42k is a the retail sale value today imo.

I can see why the other guy got a £33k offer. I would say true trade is £36k as long as the cars sub 30k miles.

I doubt a low mile manual 981 GTS has sold for less than £42k, so I'm calling custard on that.

I agree on one point though, £42k is good. Assuming I don't get low balled tomorrow...

I would have thought a 981gts would have been more than £42k trade , I am genuinely surprised, i thought they were at least £45k trade in/ private. If they end up at £43-44k private then it's a bloody good purchase! Still see some for sale over £50k

It all depends on spec, mileage, existing dealer stock, state of the market, new car options etc.

dealer just sold a 17k miles one fully speced for £42, I was so so tempted but the steerings still to bad even at that price lol
car was up at £47k and just dropped and dropped. I was so so close at that price for my next daily, so not custard at all.
very high spec car inc full GTS pack and turbo wheels, NO warranty though.

the other cars are NOT selling at >£45k, more GTS than ever for a car which is normally very hard to find.

Markets caught up with these over the last 3 months and 981 S models, some really nice cars about now at normal prices.
Great car, just quite a sudden price drop and cars stuck at higher prices are …. well stuck !!!

Was going to happen with the new GTS 4.0 though, why pay £55k for a 4 year old one ?

This is very close to my car:

Buying a 4 year old for £52k now vs an equivalent in spec this summer sometime for £70k+ plus £2k OTR costs is a good saving.

£42k does sound a bit low for a low miles, fully spec'd GTS, though Turbo wheels are a negative AFAIC smile

was this from an OPC?

it'll be interesting to see what happens once Spring arrives. prices are always a bit lower this time of the year.

is what it is, did you gloss over the other guys £33k trade bid lol

£52k is not a saving vs a new one !!! 4.5 years newer car with a GT4 engine !!

too many cars for sale now over 30 cayman and Boxsters GTS. loads been for sale 6 months plus.

GTS markets like the GT4 markets crashing daily. too many cars NO buyers due to new cars available.

it's held price VERY well, that's markets gone.

This is an OPC deal - they are retailing low mileage cars at £52, so low to mid 40s is a realistic bid,

Ashgood sold two in the last fortnight and there are only 8 on the OPC AUC finder.

So maybe, just maybe, the guy who has one and is making an actual deal, might have a better handle on this than someone who doesn't.

they just tried it on with me is all. i'm sure when i declined they called the next on the list to see if they would fall for it.

fact is there are less than 10 CGTS on the OPC used list, and it's been around that for the last few years. most of those are still above £50k and it's the middle of winter, so i'd suggest prices aren't "crashing daily".

Crazy? Worth a try? OPC would return me £44K on SOR, they say.......

I've just been to my OPC and £42k is what I got for my car. Job done, especially considering it isn't currently under the extended warranty, is due an MOT and four year service soon. It also doesn't have nav, so I'm glad I didn't waste £2.5k speccing it!

My GT4 is now in the UK and I'm looking at a mid-March collection date.
