Re exhaust mod - interesting as I spoke to the head technician at my OPC who basically said the mod would be invisible to the ECU & will not trigger any dash lights and as it’s a bypass it can’t do any damage what so ever and as such, he said “go for it, I’ll be fine”; Obviously I don’t really want to test this theory out in practice, but based on his advice I felt comfortable to add this. (Also If I ever do need to claim on the warranty for anything that may be in the slightest bit related, I’d simply swap back to OEM - 6 bolts and just over an hour to refit - realise again in practice this will be a PITA , but again this gave me the confidence to push on with it)

Lastly just for clarity - my comments below on driving characteristics were based on A/B road driving rather than track work - not used it on track yet and probably will only do so once or twice - it’s a daily road car for me smile

It’s all about your OPC’s attitude to the exhaust upgrade so why wouldn’t you go for it in your case ! OPC’s are effectively the gatekeeper to the warranty...it is up to them whether they think it’s an issue or not. Porsche GB or AG won’t know unless they raise it. If you’ve got a long standing relationship that will make a big difference in an instance like this.

Being tempted by the 718 Spyder.. It looks like there is virtually none for sale at all. Plenty of GT4’s.

If I could find one what type of overs should I expect? I would have thought minimal but based on availability that may not be the case.

Re Exhaust: Yes that was exactly my thoughts regarding the exhaust mod and I had agreed with a local small garage that I use for my MOT's that they would always do a deal on swapping it back if ever necessary

As I said it was the Exclusive Options that were the final deal breaker eek

Yep looks stunning that - I would have done exactly what you did - sometimes doing nothing is the best course of action smile

There is a black one at Wolverhampton - very nice except in black you lose the lines of the car, oh yes, it also has a red roof, which for me is a big turn off spec wise - doesn’t seem to be slowing them down; they want £k18 overs on that !!

It’s the old supply and demand thing you can’t beat the system.. I’d get one now if I was you, this bad weather will put others off a bit now however you may pay 10% more in May-June. Good luck looking ...what colour are you after?

Well if I was speccing from new I’d probably go Gentian. GT silver looks great too. I’m seriously surprised how little are around for sale.

Anyone else still waiting on Q2 allocation/already been given Q2 allocation? My OPC has told me I will be getting a GT4, but won't take any money off me as a deposit or spec at the moment, starting to get a bit nervy about it.... I'm sure they will come good, the wait is frustrating though!

I was at my OPC last week and my SA said they hadn't received any more build slots as yet. It's a bit odd as they should have had them by now for Q2 builds.

My dealer told me that I was unlikely to get an allocation...and yet 10 days later has asked me if I would like to pay a deposit as this would be useful in trying to get an allocation...

There are limited built slots for normal 718’s too....my OPC literally has two for normal 718’s up until the end of Q2.

Hatfield have got a 718 Spyder in the showroom...been there for a month I think. Crayon, Spyder interior, Comfort Seats, Steel Brakes. Up for £98k....about £10k over list.

Yep, I don't think they've got confirmed GTS 4.0 build slots as yet either, although they've submitted orders.

I've still not got a build date. Was asked last week if i wanted to change to an PDK car but as it would put me even further down the list, I declined.

I was in a similar situation for almost exactly a year until last September when they asked for a deposit. Have been waiting since then, still not got a build date...

Crayon with Red - sounds very tricky that - so two flipped Spyder’s - one black with a red roof and a Crayon with red interior - flippers must have been smoking something smile

Thinking of biting the bullet on a GT4.Am I right in thinking that the cars on autotrader aren’t moving at a huge premium?
Would probably want a fairly full spec but not bothered re. The PCCBs

not odd imo, they are gauging GTS interest sales and allocation slots on those to supply cars fast.

I still get chased to place an order for one.

Once those dry up OPC will get GT4 slots again.

Porsche are not daft, they release these cars at key times.
