Hatfield car is now on AUC site. I know lots of people love Crayon but it looks to have a brown tint to me.

oh come on. There are lots of things that irk me about Porsches - the "special"status when it comes to buying "halo" cars, the snootyness of some owners, the obsession with bling and much else. BUT at the end of the day they do design very good cars. As it happens, none appeal to me at the moment - but I'm not going to back myself into a corner, and completely preclude a future purchase.

Spyder for me ive a RS as well which I track hard so wanted something more road focused

Whats spec did you go for?
Mark Webber spec as I like to call it... I saw the attached photo and then went to my opc to see Gentian with my own eyes and loved it.

There was a Spyder there which I had a good look around. One very cool looking car. Having the roof down in some nice weather will be a treat. What colour did you choose? There wasn’t a great choice with both the GT4 and Spyder I didn’t think. I was tempted by Crayon again but I had that on my 911.2 GTS. Even so, I’m chuffed with my choice and we don’t have long to wait for our new toys to play with. To be fair - you already have a nice toy to play with by having an RS ! The Spyder and RS will make a nice combination.

Good taste! Your car looks amazing bow

It’s interesting how Gentian changes so much depending on the light conditions.

That’s gipping. However in real life and on the right car , we’ll specced, Crayon is an epic colour smile

It would be a decent car if it had zero options on it! Only you can choose how important they all are to you, each car ends up pretty much unique given the options list Porsche gives you.
I've been reading this thread with interest on that front... My spec is pretty minimal compared to most on here!
My current spec is
http://www.porsche-code.com/PLDM7PB7
Its a bit low rent inside without the extended leather interior imho, plastic dash especially.

Is the standard dash really that bad?

Sounds like you need to speak to 911R - apparently his OPC are begging him to buy a GTS 4.0. You could have his slot smile

Nice spec and not silly money at all. If I was speccing I would go with your spec plus Chrono and the black full leather dash plus dual zone climate (maybe the 18 ways but probably not)

Alas I’m going to hold strong and wait for something like this to come on second hand market at c. List price I think.

As a general query, if I bought a Macan GTS do you think there’s dealers around who may add me to a GT4 slot?

I'd almost forgot you weren't not going to go for another Porsche, it's not like you tell everyone near on a daily basis.

Could I politely ask a few questions?

If the experience was so bad, why were asking for another car of the same brand?

How have you been turned down for the 4.0 BGTS when the allocations are still open?

and finally,

If you truly hate the brand so much, why do you frequent its forum pages? Why not let it go and buy another brand of car and go to its forum?

I can see my car is now in Reading through the Porsche Car Connect App. I'm so tempted to toot the horn, lol.

Interestingly the "Last trip" it did 9.8 miles, taking 39mins and averaged a speed of 16mph. Now 16 miles on the clock. Do they stick it on a rolling road or something when PDI'ing?

Just checking the rev limiter works properly :-|

How did you get the activation code required for the app?

I think so...in a close to £100k the plastic dash really does look a bit “VW Group” rather than Porsche. I know historically lots of GT cars have had plastic dash’s but I think it makes a real difference.

Obv spec the car for yourself but to me the dash is staring you in the face every time you get in the car. One of the first things I tick and I wouldn’t buy a car with a plastic dash.

Yep the leather dash is certainly another no brainer option despite what the plastic lovers claim.
