I posted all the differences on the PCGB Cayman forum somewhere.

Thanks. Just a query, a race halo seat for the driver can't possibly be 9kg different to the double fixed back bucket seats on the 981?

Didn't realise lithium batt was possible though so that makes sense now. Clubsport and batt accounts for most of the extra over the supposed 30kg anyway.

9kg more for the 918 seat and associated electrics sounds possible to me?

I think you've mixed things up a bit..The 9Kg extra weight refers to the special real racing seat with extra wide head support Porsche AG use for setting times at the Ring..This seat weighs 9kg more than the OEM 918 LWBS which was taken out for the Ring times.

Yep halo seat is supposed to be heavier. 9kg was the same as for the 991.2 gt3 that sportauto used. That I admit always struck me as pretty unusual though as the 918 bucket seat isn't a particularly lightweight seat in the first place.

Whoops, sorry guys!

Yes that is odd, that halo seat seems particularly heavy then confused

Its not that surprising to me.., not sure it is a full 9KG heavier than 918 LWB. But nonetheless, that seat is a pretty substantial piece of safety equipment.
I have sat in them in GT3 cup car and 718 Clubsport, you suddenly feel invincible.

Very true, proper race seats don't half envelope you!

As a real-world interpretation of the stats posted by gpgts, the performance of the 981 and the 982 are essentially the same. Less than 1 sec improvement of the 982 over the 981 could easily be down to differences in track, atmospheric and driver conditions on the days of the tests.

You could say that about several cars if you ignore small differences.

I would say the 718 is quicker than the 981, but not by much. But it's quicker.

its def quicker, but side by side you need 100bhp to pull on another car to a big degree , it will be more in the sweet spot more of the time so easier to drive due to that flat torque curve which is more available ovr a longer range. but ON WOT for times that don't really matter hence the so called disapointed on paper times vs each car. IN the real world the 718 will be quicker every where.

My 718 Spyder. Due to an admin error it's a nearly full tank so less 20KG for half tank.

Factory settings awful, especially toe. No surprise there.
Got 2° neg camber on rear before ran out of toe adjustment. Better than my 981 GT4.
Off to the ring Monday to try it out

Decent weight. What spec? Buckets? Bose? Pccb?

IIRC Big Mowley's Spyder has Burmeister which makes the 1417Kg even more impressive.

Yup big spec, not a thought given to weightsmile
Heated folding buckets, and PCCB’s on the light side
Classic interior, Burmester, PDLS + on the heavy side.
Not bad though because I think my 981 GT4 was over 1400Kg but I need to root out the equivalent picture.

Well played then. The spec you want rather than what others might tell you to get and still a respectable weight smile

My 981 version (PCCB, LWB) weighs in at 1340kg for comparison.

GT4 review:

Not that any of these figures really matter much, both it and the Spyder are about more than that... but a not to shabby review with some good numbers when they compare to other cars.

The car does have an exhaust upgrade fitted - but for example:

0-60 - 4.19

This is a US test so 0-60 - not 0-62

Anyway, worth a watch

Did anyone ask/get an answer or view from their OPC on the possibility of a paint to sample or special order colour on the GT4?

Cheers.
