So, I will admit, I thought all this talk about Cup 2's being a bit Jekyll and Hyde in the wet vs dry was a bit of hyperbole, until I had my PEC day yesterday
Just after lunch, dry track, warm tyres, I felt invincible, try as I might I really struggled to unstick the car on the low friction circuit too and it really took some prodding, very impressive. We break for afternoon tea, the rain comes in, the car cools down somewhat, we head onto the Ice hill and kick plate, both as good fun as they ever were, but I suspect the water cooled the tyres somewhat.
Anyway, the combination of the lower temperatures, and the greasy/semi wet handling circuits, I'm all over the place this time around, I'd gone from feeling invincible to unable to get the power down coming out of turns, for fear of going sideways.... what a complete difference. (Maybe I just wore them bare doing doughnuts )
First time I've driven a 718 GT4, and I was honestly blown away, cannot wait to get mine now, I was giggling like a schoolgirl after the first session. Looking forward to the nice warm tarmac when I pick it up in Decem-- oh.
As a side note the PEC with social distancing and the like was still excellent, better than before I'd say. Shame they're going to close over lockdown, despite them doing everything to make it safe.

Now now, play nice.
It's a rather costly endeavour for the sake of a few months of the year. Will have to play it by ear and see how long I leave it garaged for over the winter... I suppose it does save the wear on the Cup 2's though.
It seems our resident expert doesn't understand emojis or humour - no surprise there! It's a rather costly endeavour for the sake of a few months of the year. Had exactly the same experience in a 718 spyder last monthJust after lunch, dry track, warm tyres, I felt invincible, try as I might I really struggled to unstick the car on the low friction circuit too and it really took some prodding, very impressive. The Cup2 in sensible hands is very good
That said I'm getting a second set of alloys to put some MPS4S on for Euro tours

Got the call from dealer to say my spyder is on vessel heading to Grimsby, but dealer not sure they will be open for delivery, they are talking about a click and collect, has anyone heard anything different thanks
Lucky me my car is due in at the dealer tomorrow. The problem I have is I’m in the UK and the car will be in Wales.Builder Darren said:

Yep, I've been told its "click and collect" too. I suspect it will be, come pick your car up, no free coffee, no big reveal/remove the sheet moment. (Shame I actually liked being fussed over, especially for the money paid )

How much of a faff is it to just do it on the cheap and swap the tyres out on the same rims as and when you need them?
This is standard procedure here in Switzerland to swap winter and summer tyres. Most people don‘t have an extra set of rims. At the equivalent of a back street garage here you‘re looking at somewhere between £75-100 quid a time. Our labour rates are insane, so I‘d expect you could get it done in the UK for under £50. You risk damaging the wheels each time, and you've got to get the car and tyres (in another much larger car!) to a suitable place each time.Much, much easier to have two sets of wheels and swap them on your driveway like I'll be doing.
