ATM I'm just going base white. I've had carrera white metallic and standard white and I seem to remember being happy with the non-metallic.

Your car looks amazing - folding buckets are great seats a well, so comfy. Exactly why I love the white, it really makes the deck lid stand out. I've got Burmester in my daily and it is brilliant and definitely a step up on the Bose - I'm not even sure when the car will drop so I have plenty of time to play with the spec and it is a good shout as an option - thanks.

And for comparison with black wheels and red callipers. If I were choosing again, I‘d consider the platinum wheels instead.

Cheers, I bought it as a toy, hooning about, track days and it was either this or a GT4. Initially I didn’t quite gel with it but subsequently I have fallen for it in a big way and its become a keeper, but with a different brief. It’s now the good weather daily, long trips when we don’t need to carry lots of stuff, and the odd Euro trip, and no track days. So the current car is the “wrong” spec
I’ve got another one due now so I am starting the spec debate all over again:
This time it’s PDK, comfort seats, Mrs BigM doesn’t like buckets, std tyres, steels, etc etc. so the big spec debate rolls on and on. As an added complication I’ve got a B25 due in May which I have comfort specified. The plan is to run both side by side for a good few months to decide which one is the keeper. I need to see if the convenience of the Boxster outweighs the good looks of the Spyder.
First world problems and all that.

As far as I can tell from photos on other sites the metallic can look quite blue, but it seems that all of the photos in this thread are of the metallic and none looks blue. Oh for the days of actually going to a dealership to spec.

100% yes from me. I would also spec the black door handles again as well. That was a suggestion from the dealer that I hadn‘t considered.

Today I did my first drive, about 200km, with the GT4 PDK, well what can I say;

Speechless, awesome, phenomenal, flabbergasted to name a a few words

The way this car drives, steers, brakes, the PDK shifting (in auto as manual) ride quality/road compliance, seating position, it is really (for me) the next level.

The way this car draws attention, some neck problems to be expected tomorrow :-)

I was surprised the car does not creep in D while standing still, so no brake needed !

I truly love the car, in all its aspects.

7th gear is really shorter than on my last 981 C GTS PDK version, much better now.

German BAB, 4 K RPM, 7th gear, is 200 km/h spot on.

I was somewhat conservative on making RPM`s as the manual stated the 1st 3K km no more than 4K RPM.

I guess a little over will not harm the car, opinions on that matter?

Stunning , that is exactly my dream spec (bar PDK).
Having a hard time with the 5.5k PCCB just to match the yellow interior stitching . Almost thought about painting them

Just in case anyone is interested, OPC Portsmouth have just got an almost-new GT4 in on SoR, very highly spec'd.

Racing Yellow, Manual box, PCCBs, Clubsport, buckets, rear camera, BOSE, carbon bits, etc. They sent me the spec and I built it on the configurator and it came out to £97k, which coincidentally is near-enough how much they are now offering it for. Car has only 300 miles on it, registered November 2020.

It was a bit rich for me, but if you're looking for a high-spec one ready to go now, it's a great option.

A long time coming but had the call from OPC yesterday that I now have an allocation of PDK Spyder. Build date May so should get it just as UK lockdown is lifted (hopefully!) It is the only Spyder the OPC have received this year and they are not hopeful of many more.

That's great news about your allocation. I also received the same call yesterday about my pdk spyder allocation. opc says this is the only one they are expecting this year so i guess it will be a rare car. Anyway, whats your spec? I'm having difficulty with the colour and seats. Colour will either be the Gentian blue or GT silver. Seats is another story and more confusing! Car will never be tracked. Twisty B roads and trips to wales and the highlands will be on the menu. 918 buckets are too upright, uncomfortable and have no seat heating so torn between the standard seats and 18 ways. somehow i feel the 18 ways go against the whole idea of a light car - manual roof, fabric door handles, etc. opc has recommended the 18 ways. I also think that the Porsche launch video has the standard seats. It's such a shame that Porsche have decided to delete the folding bucket option as that had seat heating, back adjustment and was a bit more comfortable than the 918 buckets. I would appreciate the thoughts of other spyder owners on the seats issue. Thank you.

I resisted the 918s as I don't fit in them (shoulder supports hit me in the shoulder blades) and so went for the 18 ways. They add a bit of weight but are very comfortable and I'm very happy with them. I think the 18 way allow the cushion's pitch to be adjusted which isn't possible on the standard seat.

If they had offered the folding buckets when I got my car those are what I would have chosen.

I have the 918 Buckets and did find them a little upright after a while. I have fitted the Track Spec angle adjusters though and this has transformed the comfort level. I am surprised the Dealer recommended the 18 ways as it seems to hinder the sale on the used market - at least it always seems to be the ones without Buckets that hang around longer. That said, a wise man said to me once 'spec the car for you and not the next owner'

I have gone for Gentian Blue, black interior with silver stitching, satin platinum wheels, black calipers plus some other bits and pieces. Resisted hi fi upgrade as I feel waste of time in a convertible and I rarely listen to anything other than the engine in my current car - which may surprise some on here as it is a 2.5 GTS ! Re the seats I find the buckets a PITA getting in and out and dont see the point of 18 ways as I am the only driver of the car and the sports seats once adjusted are perfectly comfortable.
