While I continue to flip-flop on final spec choices, I was looking for inspiration online and their really is a dearth of 718 Spyder's for sale for me to look at. Only one in the OPC network in a curious spec at £10k overs, only two on Autotrader (1 of which is an EU import) and one additional on PH Classifieds.
OPC Portsmouth had a GT Silver one for less than a week before that sold a few days ago. Don't recall the exact spec but I think it was overs.
Clearly not the same for GT4s, quite a few more available at the moment, but prices seem very strong still.
Snap! I also looked at the Porsche network for a while now. The Portsmouth one was in the £90s from what i recall. Colchester had a black one for ages priced at close to £100k. They reduced it to £97k and it disappeared quite quickly. It had all the bits on it including the 918 buckets. Severe lack of 718 Spyders atm.OPC Portsmouth had a GT Silver one for less than a week before that sold a few days ago. Don't recall the exact spec but I think it was overs.

On that note, I have a question for the Spyder/GT4 owners on here. I believe that the 918 buckets are upright but was informed that brackets are available to slightly tilt it back so good to know about that. On the stiffness of the seat, is there any padding/cushioning available for this to make it more comfortable? I was informed yesterday by my OPC that my lockdown is 23rd April. It is my intention to visit an OPC on 12 April to try out the buckets. I am gradually coming round to the idea that not only does AP recommend if there is one option you tick, it's the buckets but also I think that it makes the car look like a £90k car! Maybe I should be considering a boxster s/gts if comfort is required such as comfort seats/electric hood, etc. This is, after all, a GT car with the trimmings - brakes/suspension/chassis etc. These are just my thoughts and I do appreciate/respect that other people will have their own personal views on this. I am even coming round to the manual but that's another story!

Hi NoBrakesWC. Please can I ask if your GT4 has carbon ceramic brakes? I collected my GT4 PDK 1st March and was disappointed it has the unpainted brake caliper bolts and brake pipe nut. I'm interested to understand if my car is right or wrong.
Quite a few cars have turned up like this. It's either a cost cutting thing or a parts supply issue IMHO. You should speak to your supplying OPC about it.mobil1 said:

Bottom line if it’s a GT4 it has to have buckets.
Spyder “should” have buckets but it’s a ragtop so “should” have heated seats. On balance you can get away without buckets on a Spyder in favour of a warm botty.
Carry on.

The dreaded buckets debate again!Bottom line if it’s a GT4 it has to have buckets.

Now, of course a person can choose - but in particular, for the 718 GT4, because its is more civilised on the road - Buckets are required for a GT experience at less than full chat, IMO.

My GT4 arrives in around 3 weeks specced with PCCB's so I'll be interested to see what I get although the unpainted bolts don't offend me too much.DM101 said:

Hi DM101, No he hasn't gone for carbon ceramic brakes. He did go for painted black brake callipers though. DM101 said:
Thanks NoBrakesWC. Be interested to know what bolts come with the painted black calipers. You'd expect black but it seems to be uncontrolled at the moment. All my previous Caymans have had painted brake caliper bolts. Not very happy with unpainted bolts but love my GT4.
When it's collected I'll have a look. I'll try to remember to post here.DM101 said:

My 718 Spyder with Standard Calipers Painted Black ..... have unpainted Silver calipers Bolts .Not an issue .. in fact I think I prefer the look of unpainted Bolts .

Pic of my Black Calipers with unpainted Bolts There's going to be a level of personal preference regarding bolt colour depending on the wheel and car colour combination. To me the unpainted bolts look cheap and not right. I notice unpainted bolts are fitted to the entry level 718. Porsche have confirmed these bolts are not serviceable so I hope they don't rust. When I saw my car I thought it was a mis-build as all my previous porsche cars have had painted bolts + the configurator shows this option with yellow bolts.
Not serviceable, what does that mean?
Just guessing, but are the calipers now constructed differently and the bolts now go in after painting rather than before as they used to?
Seems a bit odd to change the manufacturing process for the same part for a non-obvious reason. Unless I'm missing something of course!

I’ve seen cars with grey bolts as early as early 2019. It’s not new. Perhaps it’s new to GT3/4 calipers though. Just guessing, but are the calipers now constructed differently and the bolts now go in after painting rather than before as they used to?
